To find that forever love with a Guardian is both her dream come true and worst nightmare entwined into a dangerously bizarre reality for Cole Evans.
Tangled in the art of passion she tries to find balance within the explosive converging of two separate worlds. Peeling back the layers of past, present and future through the disjointed answers in her mother’s journals, Cole’s life becomes equal parts mystery and spellbinding romance.
Until terrifying threats and wicked encounters drag her back into the source of her nightmares.
Stuck in a poetically volatile rebellion of revenging rage, Cole battles with the desolation of survival and separation and the reliance on gilded faith.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a great addition to the series The second instalment in this series is very emotional and vividly real with lots of intriguingly suspenseful undercurrents.  This novel also had some really cute and real moments mixed amongst the action and adventure. Woods also had me laughing so hard at times that I had tears in my eyes.  There were also some very emotional moments that left me with another kind of tears in my eyes.  This story is well put together.  The story has a brilliant flow, keeping you captivated throughout.  Its action packed, with action that comes from more than just battle scenes.  Woods gives just enough background information to jog your memory on the key players in the series and on the events of the previous novel without doing a full recap.  She also leaves the novel with a sense of finality, but one that may not be final.  You can see one ending and you hope for a new beginning. In this instalment in the series you get an in depth look at Drex’s past in a manner that puts a great deal of things in context.  Drex’s past adds an extra layer of complexity to the events in the present, as does getting to know Cole’s family history.  It’s very revealing and intriguing.  We also get to know some of the supporting cast much better.  They become more than just background characters, but rather major players in the lives of the main cast. Overall this was a brilliant addition to the series.  It left me feeling shattered but with a glimmer of hope.  I can’t wait to read the next instalment.
