about

Reading goes to the dogs in this timeless Beginner Book edited by Dr. Seuss. From big dogs and little dogs to red, green, and blue dogs, dogs going up and dogs going fast . . . who knew dogs were so busy? And laughter will ensue at the repeated question “Do you like my hat?” Like P. D. Eastman’s classic Are You My Mother? Go, Dog. Go! has been a go-to favorite for over fifty years, leaving audiences of all breeds wagging their tails with delight.

Originally created by Dr. Seuss, Beginner Books encourage children to read all by themselves, with simple words and illustrations that give clues to their meaning.

"The canine cartoons make an elementary text funny and coherent and still one of the best around."--School Library Journal.

A protege of Dr. Seuss, P. D. EASTMAN wrote and/or illustrated many books for children, among them the Beginner Books Go, Dog. Go!, The Best Nest, Sam and the Firefly, A Fish Out of Water, Robert the Rose Horse, Big Dog...Little Dog, and Are You My Mother?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have This book is a must have for any young children's library. It's a fun book and even my oldest child still quotes her favourite parts when being playful. It is one that sticks with children and adults forever. Also perfect for young children first learning to read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Go, Dog. Go! by P.D. Eastman Go Dog Go is an exciting tale about a dog on his journey through life. It encompasses all of the major obstacles we confront in our modern western society from his first period to a heart attack at thirty. Most of the text requires use of a dictionary however if you have an internet connection available then looking up the more obscure words becomes a snap. Overall, I found the overarching message of this masterpiece insightful and full of ethically sound judgments. I would without question recommend this book to anyone looking for a critical self examination of one's self and or a substitute for toilet paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from From Mother To Son This was always one of my favourites as a child - I loved the grand finale of "The Dog Party"! I have recently started reading it with my three year old son and he loves it too. As a parent, I definitely think this a great introduction to opposites, colours and basic reading. From mother to son to grandson? I can only hope!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My 3 year old is in love! Okay, it is a good book, and a classic. I remember this one when I was a kid. But, my daughters love for this is something else! This is a definate bedtime request, and although we have to read every page, she has to make up a story for each picture, on each page. Her imagination is soaring, and likely much due to this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from parent This book is a great first timer book. My child got such confidence by being able to read me a bedtime story. It is good to see her enjoy reading and now we can go on to other books with that confidence.
