Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peak Goosebumps One of the few Goosebumps books that actually scared me as a kid. The dummy does some truly horrid things that cause the parents to begin to question their daughter’s sanity. She goes from embarrassed to terrified, and it gets real when the dummy targets their dog. One of the most memorable plot twists, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Goosebumps Night of the Living Dummy is one of those classic Goosebumps stories that everyone remembers because it introduced us to a dummy named Slappy. He was a memorable Goosebumps creature feature. This character alone makes the book worth reading for kids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely terrifying for a child! What is it about ventriloquist dolls that makes them scary? Whatever it is, Stine taps into it in this book! For children, this is terrifying... exactly what the Goosebumps series is meant to represent!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Chilling" Well this is a book that I've probably seen in almost every bookstore out there. Here is a book that actually freaked me out and yes, I know it's a kids book, but this actually gave me the creeps. R.L. Stine really scared me and I now think that there's just a dummy that's going to come into my life. If you want a scare, this is the right book for you, as this is probably the scariest of many Goosebumps books I've ever read. The horror really gave me nightmares and I must say, I recommended this book to a few people who said this was scary. Slappy is a complete original villain, and that is why I call this book a really good, yet chilling novel by the master of fright, R.L. Stine. TheBookReviewer
