about

A unique and spirited graphic novel reminiscent of the works of Raina Telgemeier and Neil Gaiman!

Katia and Victoria are sisters and scholarship students at a private boarding school. While Victoria tries to fit in, Katia is unapologetic about her quirks, even though their classmates tease her. After a big fight, Katia runs away from school. And when Victoria goes looking for her, she accidentally tumbles into the underworld of a nearby graveyard. It's inhabited by ghosts and a man named Nikola, who's preparing a sinister spell that's missing one key ingredient. Victoria teams up with adorable Little Ghost and Nikola's kindhearted son, and together they search for Katia - who is in danger of becoming Nikola's next victim!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet and not spooky My kid read and reread this book enough to make it worth buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely story. This was so much fun! I loved how much detail was put into this graphic novel from the illustrations to the characters to the themes. Staying true to yourself was one of the main themes in this story. I loved how each character focuses on growing into being themselves and not listening to those who judged them. Great for the kids!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Full of ghosts but not scary, too much An adorably cute, full colour graphic novel of two sisters recently arrived at boarding school. Victoria is trying hard to fit in with the other snobby students, where as Katia is quite content to be herself even if that doesn't win friends. Victoria is the typical older sister who wants to follow the rules and have her sister do likewise. Katia is a lot more impulsive and fun. I love the frames where she is wildly playing the piano. They soon become involved in a graveyard plot that puts one of them at great risk. To save her sister, the other has to place her trust in another, something which she finds hard to do and is against her nature. Great themes of sisters, friendship and trust. This is an easy to read story with lovely graphics. It's not really a Halloween story, but it does have a variety of ghosts and spooks for young readers to enjoy. #IndigoEmployee
