With every new day's headlines the world is shifting into a new reality. Freakish weather patterns, widespread smog alerts, and unsafe water advisories are problems that we all need to tackle. But we still have to drive cars, pack school lunches, do laundry, unclog toilets, and throw dinner parties. So how do we do the things we do without making a mess of our world? Green for Life is a practical guide to living the life you want, but with the reduced impact the planet needs. Well known for her involvement in environmental issues, Gillian Deacon takes you through the stuff of everyday life and explains how to do it with minimal environmental impact. Green for Life is a must-have guide for people who know they have to do something, but don't know where to start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Book! There is NO way you can read this book and go back to your 'old ways' nor would you want to. It's easy to read, although I agree you need a highlighter for the bits that you want to go back to or remember when you are quoting on the phone! I will eventually buy this for everyone I know. Well done Gill Deacon, I miss your show!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great info I've read a few "green" books lately which I normally get at the library. But with this book, I had to stop reading and get my own copy so I could go through it with a highlighting marker. While other books have left me thinking we are doomed, this book provides information on what you can do that affects you personally and is better for the earth. I also bought a copy for a friend's birthday and then bought 6 more as Mothers Day gifts--That's how strongly I felt that other people should be reading this book.
