about

King Grim Vasteri is the strongest and most feared warrior in the Tornian Empire. He is the King of Luda, blood brother to the Emperor and his line will die with him. He will have no offspring for no female would join with him for once he was scarred he was considered 'unfit'. The Tornian Empire has been dying ever since the great infection caused the birth of females to become a rarity. Since then they have been searching the known universes for compatible females. The Emperor's discovery of a compatible female on a slave ship changed that. He'd ordered Grim to find his Empress' home world so more 'unprotected' females could be obtained, knowing Grim would never be allowed to Join with one. Lisa Miller is a widowed mother of two little girls, Carly and Miki. Her husband died just a year ago, after a long battle with cancer and she misses him immensely. Friends want her to start dating again but in her heart, she knows there isn't a man on the planet she could love like her Mark. Who could love their girls like their own. Therefore, she'll stay alone. When Lisa is discovered 'unprotected' at her husband's grave, she wakes on an alien ship heading for an alien world. Refusing to accept this she confronts the large males, demanding she be returned to her children. Seeing his chance to have a female, Grim agrees to accept and protect her offspring, if she agrees to Join with him and only him. Realizing this is the only way she can retrieve her children Lisa agrees and the Tornian Empire changes forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grim Lisa and Grim continue the story where Kim and Wray left off. These two work together to protect their love and new life together from those who would tear them apart. Enjoy reading their story.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too bad the editing was soooo poor The story was very entertaining however the were too many typos, word missing, gramatical error....should have been edited properly before being published, it is part of the price we pay for the book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely shocked I thought since the book didn't cost much it was just a short story or poorly written. Compleatly sucked in and proved wrong. An amazing full length book well written an had me laughing tearing up and talking to my device. A story that builds up the concepts of love honor and true glory in an adventure that shows the relationship between man and woman from a first seen light that is delightful. This review from a woman who never stops to bother with writing them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simply amazing An amazing read. Such a nice twist on most romances with a focus on family and understanding vastly different cultures as well. My only criticism it that this is definitely in need of an editor, although for the quality of authorship I can easily overlook that!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Simply amazing I work it a private school. I have SECOND graders who can write better sentences that the ones I found in this book. I don't think there was a single paragraph that didn't have some kind of error, either in grammar or in spelling. IT MADE ME CRAZY! Having said that, I loved the story. It was a wonderful retelling of the Beauty and the Beast type story. Grim struggled with his perceived shortcomings as he comes to trust and care for Lisa and her girls. Lisa is a great character who doesn't flinch from confronting the challenges of Grim's hang ups, both personal and cultural, to win a safe place for her children. Honestly, I put this book down because of the terrible errors, but I just couldn't leave it. I plan to read the sequel because I am so invested in these characters, but I can't bring myself to purchase other books unless I can see an improvement. Please, if the author reads this: Get a proofreader; you desperately need one. I'll be happy to volunteer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Grim I enjoyed the book but there were a lot of editing and grammar errors that I found distracting. The story was quite well done and the conversations were natural. If this story was cleaned up a little, it could be quite epic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grim This is a very well thought out story. The characters are vivid and there are some enjoyable twists - it is not predictable. I like that the 'aliens' are not all noble and too good to be true. They have incecurities and failings. In the end this is more about learning to communicate within a relationship than just a 'space opera'. The only real failing was the editing. The prose was a bit confusing at times - using present and past tense simultaneously; it is a good example of how important editing is. The story is good enough though for you to get past the issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great story..needs an editor The story line is a good read and the characters are great. I really enjoyed this book and hope the there is another to continue the story, how ever it does need a grammer and spell check. If you can look past the errors, it is a great read
