Not even the chick must know his mother's identity. It would give him away as Hrath's heir. Sent by an evil warlord, a hagsfiend attempts to lure young Hoole away when he first learns to fly. Grank realizes that the same evil forces that killed Hrath are after Hoole, and know where he is. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps you on the Edge of your seat! I have been following this great series by kathryn lasky, and I was thoroughly surprised when the story had changed. It had started with Soren and his travels, changed to Coryn and his journey, and finally, Lasky has started writing about the true legend of Hoole, the true King of owls. Follow Hoole's mother as she searches desperately for her son, while Ygryk and Pleek follow her the whole way. The story is full of betrayal, secrets, great adventure, numerous dangers, and a loving mother searching for her curious son, as he learns the ways of his life as the prince. Part two of this review will be written at a later time.
