Gives you a step-by-step, lesson-by-lesson plan for setting up a literacy rich classroom environment. Covers all areas of the curriculum in a meaningful way for students that allows them to grow as readers and writers. I've been using it to frame my language arts programming and it has revolutionized what I do and why I do it. My students have shown improvements that I can measure and they are really interested in good literature now. If you teach grades 3 - 8, you must get this book!
