Meet Hamish X

Orphan, Enigma, and Enemy to Pirates Everywhere

The mysterious Hamish X is the scourge of the Orphan Disposal Agency—Agents Candy and Sweet can’t seem to find a facility that can hold him. After arriving at the Windcity Orphanage, where the children are forced to earn their keep making stinky blue cheese, Hamish X is soon planning his escape along with new friends Parveen and Mimi. But his plans are put on hold when the factory is suddenly attacked by a fierce gang of pirates, led by the dreaded Cheesebeard of Snow Monkey Island. In order to save the other orphans, Hamish X, Mimi, and Parveen must embark upon an epic adventure across the Arctic and take on the cheese-obsessed pirates by themselves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hilarious Adventure! A great mix of adventure and humour. This book teaches you to stick together, have compassion, and never give up. The narrator in this book is so funny and the story is exciting and engaging. It even gets young readers used to footnotes! The footnotes are by far the best part-- they are so hilarious! Love that it's written by a Canadian!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely LOVE it! This book is absolutely brilliant!! It may seem like a joke at first, but I tell you now that it is way more than you may think in its face. It has wonderful comedy in general, fruitful footnotes, and lots of adventure & action in an amazing start to a trilogy! I caught myself getting enveloped in the characters quite easily, and the story. It's one of those books you read and eagerly move through it. It's a wonderfully made book and Sean knows how to keep someone interested. I honestly will read this book, and series, over-and-over again without a doubt. This series is more of a kids to young adults kind of reading material, but whatever your cuppa! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a step into a very enjoyably different/quirky adventure. It's not a book series you should pass up otherwise :)
