Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book A childhood favourite - great simple reading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic fun Another favourite, though I think we would prefer a slightly bigger version. My brother-in-law read it/sang it to the "military cadence" and it stuck! Now we always read it to the "I don't know, but I've been told" tune! Lots of fun, kinda like a chant, and the kids love to drum along with it. "Dum-ditty, dum-ditty, dum, dum, dum!" #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small but Good The smaller size is a challenge when reading to my son as he is not always able to see when i am reading it, but the story remains a classic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as the original version. This board book version is a good introduction to Hand Hand Fingers Thumb, but be aware that some of the original text is missing. The full hardcover version is better yet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where have you been little book? I picked this up at Chapters while browsing with my son one afternoon and was instantly taken back many many years ago to a childhood bedtime...all five kids sitting around my mum keeping time by beating on our legs, clapping our hands, tapping the bed as we chanted (and shouted) along with her the unfortgettable words to this book. How could I have forgotten this gem??!! Needless to say, the words are once again firmly embedded in my psyche and the only problem I have with this book is trying to turn the pages fast enough to not lose the beat! An instant favorite for anyone who opens the cover!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Staple! Small enough to fit in the diaper bag, and good enough to be read over and over as toddlers like. One of my son's absolute favourites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WONDERFUL I am SOOO sick of this book... lol But it's because my daughter loves it so much that we're forced to read it to her about 50 times a day. :) She's almost 14 months old and literally LOVES this book... she will bring it to everyone in the house to read to her over and over and she always drums while we read it. Too cute. While I might never be able to get the words to this book out of my head (eeck!), I am so glad that she enjoys it. The rhythm is great and it's obviously a wonderful childrens' book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Book! My daughter is 16 months and she loves this book. She brings it to me everyday and we must read it at least 10 times a day. And she knows when you miss a part!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm memories This was the first book that I ever read by myself when I was 4. I had the book memorized word for word and even now, 20+ years later, the words stick in my head. Dum ditty, dum ditty, dum, dum, dum!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb This has been one of my favorite books since I was small. I loved to have my father read it to me over and over again. I now have passed the love of this book to my son. It was one of the first books that he learned to read. I would highly recomend it to parents everywhere.

Hand picked by our Panel of Experts the IndigoKids Recommends program offers book suggestions designed to help you find the perfect book easily and confidently. For years, moms, dads and, of course, tots have been applauding Pulitzer Prize-winner Dr. Seuss for his fun, catchy and wildly imaginative children’s stories. And one tale that we’re always ready and willing to give a ‘hand’ to is Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb — a story that features cheery little monkeys naming parts of the body and demonstrating what they do. With illustrations in brilliant reds and blues and sing-songy rhymes that no child can resists repeating, this is an ideal way to introduce children to all of the wonderful things we can do with our bodies!
