Running time: 11 hrs., 48 mins. 10 CDs.

For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort.

Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter's defeat of You-Know-Who was Black's downfall as well. And the Azkban guards heard Black muttering in his sleep, "He's at Hogwarts...he's at Hogwarts."

Harry Potter isn't safe, not even within the walls of his magical school, surrounded by his friends. Because on top of it all, there may well be a traitor in their midst.
J.K. Rowling was a struggling single mother when she wrote the beginning of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, on scraps of paper at a local cafe. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always One of my favourite books in the series. I particularly love the character of Lupin.
Date published: 2017-09-12
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best Potter books Coming off of Chamber of Secrets, which I thought was the weakest Potter novel, we get Prisoner of Azkaban, which is arguably one of the strongest. Whereas book 2 felt safe and went over familiar territory, book 3 really expands on the lore, the world and most importantly, the characters. This novel is a huge turning point in the series and offers so much insight into the wizarding world. #staffreviews

Every child/teenager/adult needs to read this series because I'm sure they will fall in love with it!

Date published: 2017-07-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only Getting Better So far, this book is my favourite in the series. A little darker with all the magic and humour that we got in the first two. But I don't think I could ever dislike a book that advocates eating chocolate as a wellness remedy.
Date published: 2017-07-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reread Suuuuch a good book. I think it is this book that really gets the series going and stops making it seem like just a children's series. An amazing book with a lot more in-depth look at characters and shows how things and people are not what or who they seem to be.
Date published: 2017-07-15

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Harry Potter #3, another great book After discovering the magical universe, Harry is now learning more about his family and his power. This third story is as exciting as the previous one. Harry Potter stays a great story for young and old. Take your time and enjoy the fun.
Date published: 2017-07-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Unforgettable. I'm currently reading The Goblet Of Fire, but this book is, by far, one of the best. This one has robbed Harry or his innocence, hopes, and desires. So heartbreaking when *SPOILER COMING* Harry didn't get to live with Sirius. He had hope and it had been taken away from him, which had me extremely heartbroken. It left me in tears. I would never get over that. With unexpected allies and a huge plot twist, The Prisoner Of Azkaban cannot be unloveable. I love this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favourite Harry Potter story One of the most famous book series in audio book. This is a perfect gift for big and small. A great alternativ to the book, if you are travelling a lot or even to listen to while commuting to work or school. The kids attention will be given for a while.
Date published: 2017-07-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great audio version A great story to listen to with the rest of the family. Of course you can read it loud but the audio book version is great when you are traveling long distances or even commuting to school. For younger and older.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Book 3 in an amazing series Book 3 gives more back ground to the series and as a kid when I first read it I did not like it as much as the first two. After re-reading it several times it is a key piece to the series!
Date published: 2017-06-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it I love the fact that you read most of the book thinking one thing only to find out you were completely wrong.
Date published: 2017-06-18

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third book is a charm This was yet another awesome follow up in the Harry Potter series
Date published: 2017-06-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the movie For me this is the book where the movie could not cover all the elements -- if you want a better understanding of the Marauders and patroneses, the book is the way to go. It is also the book where I feel it takes a bigger step into more character maturity as the gang takes more dangerous adventures and the past is more developed.
Date published: 2017-06-11
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite book in the series so far! Great book! So many plot twists and the book was the perfect length. Love her writing style!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must read. The H.P. series keeps getting better, with this book being one of the highlights. Would definitely recommend!
Date published: 2017-06-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps getting better I don't know if I have much to say, since most people know about Harry Potter and don't need detailed explanations for why they should read it. Loved the introduction of Remus Lupin, who is one of my favourite characters
Date published: 2017-06-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mischief Managed It's Harry's third year at Hogwarts and a prisoner is on the loose! Sirius Black has escaped from Azkaban and Harry's life might fall in peril. This 3rd installment is probably one of my favourites out of the series. You meet new characters(whom you will surely love!) and discover new truths about not only the present but the past as well. Loved learning about the Marauder's map. Pick it up if you've already read the first two!

Date published: 2017-06-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT I love love love Prisoner of Azkaban, both the book and the movie. It's creative and different from the rest of the series because it focuses more on Harry's family as opposed to LV (you-know-who), which is a nice change in a long series where LV is the main villain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, But Not as Good While Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a remarkable novel, it falls a little short of the expectations that readers have of J.K. Rowling's work after her first two novels. I still recommend this novel, however, I was not as dazzled by this one.

I absolutely love all the new things in this book - the adventure at the end is also very interesting. I like how this one also has a bit more darkness, more than the first two. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third is a good as the first The third in the Harry Potter series lets you into a third year at magical Hogwarts school. This time there are dementors all around the school keeping the students contained while keeping the "threat" out. All the while, there are "threats" there under their noses without them knowing it. They need to find out who they are before it is too late.
Date published: 2017-03-19
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Year 3! Prisoner of Azkaban is definitely my favourite of the Harry Potter movies but I can't decide if it's my favourite book. I definitely recommend it. Of course, if you read books one and two, then it's a no-brainer that you'll read this one,. Prepare yourself for things to get even darker.

I love how it starts to take on a more dark and foreboding tone that foreshadows some of the events to come in the series. It is a bit strange that the last third of the book is dominated mostly by the activities involving the time turner, and just when you think a conclusion has been reached, something else crops up. Either way though, this is a fantastic read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favourites One of my favourites in the series. Definitely way better than the first two books. I like how this book stands alone really well on its own even though it's quite short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it as much as first two The listening pleasure continues with this third installment in the Harry Potter series. Jim Dale keeps doing the great job of sounding out all the characters. JK Rowling's writing is superb. The printing of the CDs and the box that hold them is very nice. I like the art work very much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from best! This book was probably the best of the bunch - so far! I absolutely loved this book. Like I said before, what I love most, is how fast paced these books are. This one begins with a murderer on the loose. Harry finds out that the murderer - Sirius Black - is after him. In the beginning he doesn't know why, but he shortly learns the truth. There are guards set up all over Hogwarts called Dementors. I basically see them as grim reapers. They can suck the soul right out of you. Harry learns a bitter truth about Sirius and his relationship that he once had with Harry's parents. Sirius ends up in Hogwarts and Harry and his friends need to find out the truth before Harry sets out to kill him. Just when you think the book is done, there is an AMAZING turn of events. This book had everything. I loved it. Definitely the best book so far. I can't wait to read the next one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DROP EVERYTHING AND READ THIS BOOK I am a huge Harry Potter fan, normally I'm not into fantasy books, but the way J.K. Rowling wrote this book just grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down. I have read this book multiple times and it's gets better every time I read it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Things get real The first two books are great, but it's really the PoA that takes everything to an entirely different level. Things get more sirius - I mean serious - and the story gets more depth. The characters become more 3d as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed my love of reading forever I first read this book in 2002 at age 10 after I had watched the first movie. By that point my sister had the first 4 books and I just had to borrow them to read more in one of the best stories ever written. I spent the next year anxiously awaiting the 5th book Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I have re-read the books so many times that some of the pages are falling out in a few of them. Now, at age 24, I still have yet to find a series that I love as much as this one.
