Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great read Bought this book as an impulse purchase (and it was on sale, so that definitely was an enabler) and have no regretted it since. It's a very lengthy book with great attention to detail of the magical creatures origins, history through the ages and views from the society. It also includes a folded map of creatures in the back pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For Fans I purchased this book about a week ago and I absolutely LOVE it! I myself have only read up to book four, and there were two small spoilers, so I suggest reading all the book and seeing the movies before you start reading. This book contains incredible art, and is much larger and thicker than I would have thought. The chapters go as follows: 1. Forest Dwellers - Centaur, Unicorn, Acromantula, Hippogriff, Thestral 2. Lake Dwellers - Merperson, Grindylow 3. Sky Dwellers - Dragon, Cornish Pixie 4. Trespassers - Troll, Giant, Gnome 5. Shape-Shifters - Animagus, Boggart, Werewolf 6. The Working World - Post Owl, House-elf, Goblin, Fluffy 7. Dark Forces - Basilisk, Dementor, Inferius 8. Companions - Hedwig, Errol, Pigwidgeon, Scabbers, Crookshanks, Mrs. Norris, Fang, Trevor, Arnold, Fawkes, Nagini 9. The Green House - Devil's Snare, Mandrake, Whomping Willow, Mimbulus Mimbletonia, Venomus Tentacula, Drigible Plum If there is a specific character that falls under one of these species, it will have a few pages on it. Take Acromantula, for example, the page first talks about the species, then you flip the page and it talks about Aragog. Overall this book is full of incredible art and is very informative. Mainly because it doesn't only talk about the species, but how they built it in the movies, etc. This book gave me a much greater appreciation for the books and movies and is worth every penny. Hope this helped
