"We all hold a beast inside. The only difference is what form it takes when freed."

Rain Ryland has never belonged anywhere. He’s used to people judging him for his rough background, his intimidating size, and now, his orphan status. He’s always been on the outside, looking in, and he’s fine with that. Until he moves to New Wurzburg and meets Friederike Burkhart.

Freddie isn’t like normal teen girls, though. And someone wants her dead for it. Freddie warns he’d better stay far away if he wants to stay alive, but Rain’s never been good at running from trouble. For the first time, Rain has something worth fighting for, worth living for. Worth dying for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you liked Twilight, you'll probably like this I heard this book was like a combination of Twilight and Beauty and the Beast. I don't really agree with the second part of that statement, but it is very Twilight-y. I like Twilight, so I thought it was pretty good. I especially liked the main character and the story surrounding his family. I wasn't a huge fan of the romantic interest. I think she would have been a much more interesting character if she hadn't spent almost the entire book telling Rain that she was dangerous, he should stay away from her, and he didn't know what he was getting himself into. It got real old, real fast. Other than that, the plot was engaging and the supporting characters were good. Overall a good read.
