Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it I read this series as an adult and just adored it. Someone smarter than me filled in me on the politics of Phillip Pullman, and all of the allusions to Paradise Lost which gave me a greater appreciation of the work, but this is simply a great story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible!!! I recently ordered a bunch of different novels to try to decide which I might like to read with my class as a novel study. I purchased the Golden Compass and liked it instantly. I couldn't bother with any of the other books that I'd also purchased until I had gone out, bought and read all three books of the trilogy. It is an incredible story, and I think every person, no matter how old or how young should read these books. You'll be pulled through them right until the very end, good luck not getting too emotional!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from His Dark Materials, Incredible My mum and brother read these books so i decided to try reading them. I started The Golden Compass and got a bit bored at the begining and i left it for about a month. Then i tried continuing and loved it so much. Then i read the next to books. By the time I was finished The Amber Spyglass i Wanted there to be tons more in the series but unfortunetly its a trilogy. The best one is definetly the third. After that i waited for the fifth Harry Potter and finally read it when it came out. But i didn't enjoy it because it was nothig like His Dark Materials. There's only one word that can descibe this trilogy: Incredible.
