about

Fight the War Against Draconic Oppression in this Adventure for the World’s Greatest Roleplaying Game

In an audacious bid for power the Cult of the Dragon, along with its dragon allies and the Red Wizards of Thay, seek to bring Tiamat from her prison in the Nine Hells to Faerun. To this end, they are sweeping from town to town, laying waste to all those who oppose them and gathering a hoard of riches for their dread queen. The threat of annihilation has become so dire that groups as disparate as the Harpers and Zhentarim are banding together in the fight against the cult. Never before has the need for heroes been so desperate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from not bad a decent first adventure, a little extra work needed by the DM but still fun

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good introduction for new players While not the most perfect campaign, this is a good way for new players to get into playing. It has lots of variety but the story is a little predictable in parts. Might need some tweaking here and there but still a good option for new or lapsed players to get into D&D

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Workable, but there are better campaigns out there While it is a nice looking book and an okay adventure, I was disappointed with the scenario. It felt too linear for my tastes and inexperienced GMs might accidentally kill the party outright in a few of the encounters. I'd recommend other adventures published by Wizards of the Coast instead, to be honest (Out of the Abyss and Curse of Strahd).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Alright Adventure I've read that his adventure was being written before they finished writing all the rules and it definitely shows. There's quite a few encounters that feel really unbalanced and downright unfair (the assassin one comes to mind) so it's going to require a lot of changes and editing to be done by the DMs themselves. It's also fairly railroady, my group didn't mind it but I know some groups will. It's a decent story line and very classic D&D but the amount of work required by the DM to balance and change is a bit ridiculous if, like me, you were just looking for an easy pre written adventure you could just have fun with. I recommend it if you're will to put in the work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Adventure A good romp through the Forgotten Realms. There will be a lot of barely survived encounters if the DM has mercy. Could have used some better editing. Some mismatches between the text and the maps.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from First Adventure in a long time This module is a bit railroady, but it's a good introduction to 5E if you're not going to play any of the one-off raids. If you're DMing, research a bit online, there are a couple of parts that are overpowered, risk of TPK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Start The first of many campaigns for 5e. I highly recommend this campaign for it's fun environment and interesting story line. It uses most of the most iconic monsters from past editions and feels like a classic AD&D adventure. A great buy.
