But even as they embrace their new home-free lifestyle, the Martins grapple with its challenges, including hilarious language barriers, finding financial stability, and missing the family they left behind. Together, they learn how to live a life-and love-without borders. From glittering Georgian mansions in Ireland to the windswept coasts of Portugal, this euphoric, inspiring memoir is more than a tale of second chances. Rated 2 out of 5 by from This Truely is a Book of Memoirs This book was written by a nice 70+yr old lady on her experiences briefly living in different countries. She goes into great detail about her accommodations, meeting and making friends, her restaurant meals, drinking wines and shopping experiences. If you have ever read an article from International Living, this is the same fluff. She really doesn't explain HOW she sold her house or HOW she created a new life and saw the world, contrary to the title. The details and planning were done by her husband. The book finds some redemption in the Epilogue. It in itself is a masterful philosophy that in its four pages almost makes up for the book. There is also some value in the final chapter - The Learning Curve if are looking for a pinch of helpful information.
