“I wish there were something I could do to ease the pain.”

How often do women see a friend in distress or crisis, but feel helpless to really make a difference? *Hopelifter:*Creative Ways to Spread Hope When Life Hurts takes the mystery out of how to be the hands and feet of Jesus to anyone in need of hope, comfort and care.  Kathe Wunnenberg, whose hope-lifting ministry has impacted the lives of thousands, demonstrates simple, practical ways that acts of creative compassion can transform lives.

Whether it’s encouraging a jobless friend, lifting the spirits of someone trapped in depression, leaving an anonymous gift for a grieving mother, hosting a starting-over shower for a divorced friend, or playing one small part in long-term support for a family in deep crisis, daily opportunities to make a difference in hurting lives are limitless for a Hopelifter

The perfect book for women who want to spread hope in their friendships, workplace, neighborhoods, and homes, and ideal for those in caring roles in churches and ministries.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hopelifter by Kathe Wunnenberg Hopelifter: Creative Ways to Spread Hope When Life Hurts by Kathe Wunnenberg Have you ever wondered if there was something you could do to ease a friend’s pain? Have you struggled to know what to say, what to do, how to help someone who is suffering? If so, then this book might be helpful. Kathe Wunnenberg is the founder and president of Hopelifters Unlimited. Through her own experiences and the experiences of others, she beautifully writes about the power of hope. Wunnenberg comes across as authentic and familiar, like that someone you know who always has a smile, a hug, or a timely word to share. The book is quite interesting and helpful. It is divided into three parts: Discovering Hope, Embracing Hope, and Giving Hope. In the first two parts, Wunnenberg shares stories and points to God as our ultimate source of hope. The third part is like a recipe box of stories relating to specific topics ranging from abuse to workplace challenges. There was also a study guide included at the back of the book. While I did enjoy this book and its’ message, I was a little bit disappointed that there were not more practical, ‘hands-on’ instructions given, especially in the third part. Still, it is a worthwhile read. Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze.com® http://BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program.
