Following the success of Go the F**k to Sleep, Confessions of a Scary Mommy, and Ketchup Is a Vegetable, a collection of funny, warm, and charmingly profane tales from the frontlines of parenthood by the author of the popular Baby Sideburns blog.

Once upon a time you and your partner had a perfect life: dinners out, weekend mornings cuddling in bed, brunch with friends. Then you gave birth to a poop machine (or two). Now, it's all about the pediatrician, breast pumps, princess dresses, and minivans. And discovering that your pride and joy is actually a little A-hole.

When your son wakes you up at 3:00 A.M. because he wants to watch Caillou, he's an a-hole. When your daughter outlines every corner of your living room with a purple crayon, she's an a-hole. When your rug rats purposely paint the kitchen ceiling with their smoothies, they're a-holes. At times like these, it's only natural to want to kill them (or yourself). But it's against the law (and there's the suicide hotline). Plus, there's that whole loving them more than anything in the whole world thing.

In I Heart My Little A-Holes, Karen Alpert shares hilarious stories, lists, and deep thoughts on the joys and horrors of raising children. Accompanied by cheery illustrations and photos I Heart My Little A-Holes will make you laugh so hard you'll wish you were wearing a diaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Every now and then a book comes along that is so captivating, so brilliant and so gratifying that I wish it would never end. This is such a book. I don’t remember how I discovered this amazing novel, but most likely it was through positive reviews, and an abundance of recommendations by book lovers everywhere. I finally caved in and picked up a copy, but despite the wonderful things I'd heard about this book, I was reluctant to start reading it. Why? Because it’s about 900 pages long! I am always hesitant about reading books that are lengthy for a couple of reasons: 1) I’m absolutely certain that a novel this long will include a lot of boring chapters and 2) the book will take forever to finish, which will use up time that I can put towards reading something else. Well, let me tell you, nothing could be further from that when it comes to this book. When I did finally start this story after months of it sitting on a shelf, I was so mesmerized that I just zipped right through it within a short period of time. When the story ended, I was upset. Not because the story was bad but because 900 pages for something this amazing is much too short! I could have easily zipped through another 900. There are no words impressive enough to describe this masterpiece. Read it and you'll understand what I mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linked by Blood Over the past several years, I have always found an excuse not to read Lamb's colossal psychological tearjerker, I Know This Much is True. I had an inkling that I would be quite taken with its protagonists, but it required a considerable amount of time and abandon. Well, I devoured this tale in a two day timespan while working during the Christmas holidays. I Know This Much is True weaves the tale of identical twin brothers Dominic and Thomas, one who is an emotionally crippled house painter and the other is a paranoid psychizophrenic; the latter's actions will have harrowing consequences on the state of mind of the other. Lamb continues to marvel without dousing us in heavy sentimentalities and that is no mean feat at over 900 pages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I never wanted it to end It touched me right to the core. I loved it so much. It was a long read, and daunting and overwhelming to look at. But it was pure magic. The characters, I wanted to hug them, and hold them, and tell them that it was all going to be okay. An incredible author. Amazing story. I was sad when my involvement in their lives was over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could Not Put This Down This novel is huge but definitely worth it.. Domenic & Thomas are identical twins, except one has schizophrenia. We are introduced to them as adults in 1990 and through flashbacks relive their childhood lives with them. So many issues are addressed in this novel. The family dynamic , sibling rivalry, mental illness, friendship, love, loyalty, the state of the medical system and so much more I cannot even describe. The characters are very interesting, bringing many sidelines to an already captivating story. This is extremely well written and will hold you hostage from the very first line. I was not too fond of the ending, those of you that have read it will know everything was tied up too perfectly , but that said I still give it 5 stars .It is still very good, If you are going to read one book this year make it this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Captivating, Poignant, Unforgettable... At first daunted by the sheer size of this book, I was intrigued by the comments of so many others. We'll I'm here to say it was as good and even better! Mr Lamb you have done it again. Grabs you from the very first sentence and doesn't let go until the last. A cast of characters that will remain with you forever and a rich tale with many layers very beautifully told. A must read for everyone.
