about

I see LONDON,
I see FRANCE,
I see Sydney’s underpants.

Nineteen-year-old Sydney has the perfect summer mapped out. She’s spending the next four and a half weeks traveling through Europe with her childhood best friend, Leela. Their plans include Eiffel-Tower selfies, eating cocco gelato, and making out with très hot strangers. Her plans do not include Leela’s cheating ex-boyfriend showing up on the flight to London, falling for the cheating ex-boyfriend’s très hot friend, monitoring her mother’s spiraling mental health via texts, or feeling like the rope in a friendship tug-of-war.

In this hilarious and unforgettable adventure, New York Times bestselling author Sarah Mlynowski tells the story of a girl learning to navigate secret romances, thorny relationships, and the London Tube. As Sydney zigzags through Amsterdam, Switzerland, Italy, and France, she must learn when to hold on, when to keep moving, and when to jump into the Riviera . . . wearing only her polka-dot underpants.

Sarah Mlynowski was born on January 4, 1977 in Montreal, Canada. She attended McGill University where she graduated with a degree in English Literature. She later moved to Toronto to work for Harlequin Enterprises Ltd. She used her romance publishing experiences to fuel her first novel Milkrun. She now writes full-time and her other wo...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great summer read! I really enjoyed this story! It was so much fun! I loved reading about the places they traveled in Europe. I could picture some places so well from my own vacations, like King’s Cross Station in London or the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Since these places were so well represented, I’m sure the other cities and landmarks were described accurately. Within the narrative, there were lines from the travel book that Sydney was reading, followed by her comments on them. These lines were so funny. Her take on these cities and the things that really happen, such as having a plate broken over your head in Corfu, were hilarious! Sydney and Jackson were so cute! I was rooting for them from the beginning! Even though Leela thought he was trouble, I hoped that he would have some redeeming qualities. The dynamic of Sydney, Leela, and Kat was also accurately depicted. Usually, a group of three friends doesn’t work, because someone feels left out. Since Leela and Kat know Sydney from different places and times in her life, I wasn’t surprised that they had a rocky start. I loved this book! It’s the perfect summer vacation story!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good summer read This was a cool summer read. We follow two best friends in their Europe trip and i found the mental illness topic interesting.Despite that, i found some aspects unnessesary for a YA book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I liked it, but Leela was really annoying and some of the things she says are superfluous. She could leave Sydney alone. But either than that, I learned a lot about Europe and many of the strange but awesome customs they have there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this! If there's one major thing that I felt about this book, it's that my travel itch is strong after this one! Adventure after adventure had me feeling like I was there with them the whole time. Their friendship is one that you can relate to and know that you'll always rely on!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Interesting premise but poor execution I wanted so much to like this but it just didn't work for me. The characters were supposed to be older teens that are talking about drinking and drugs yet they were written in such a juvenile way. Other than the part when they're in London, I didn't even find this book very in depth in any kind of "travel" aspects. A lot of the other cities featured things people would know about the city without even looking it up. The characters were annoying and entitled, seemingly ignorant about other countries and cultures while on a trip they supposedly planned a long time for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect summer read! Enjoyed this read very much, even for an old fart like me! Three of us went to Paris last year and even though we didn't hook up like the girls here, the bitching and complaining was still there :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute summer romance? Check. Cute boys? Check. I See London, I See France is a cute summer read! Sydney and her best friend Leela are off to Europe for a month! Only, so is Leela’s cheating ex-boyfriend and his really hot friend that Sydney may or may not want to know more about. On top of that, Sydney is also trying to make sure that her agoraphobic mother will be all right without Sydney being around to help for the first time in seven years. Despite these issues, Sydney is determined to have the best summer ever as she travels through London, Amsterdam, Paris, Switzerland, Belgium, Southern France and Italy. If you’re looking for a cute, quick summer read, this one’s a hit!
