Rated 3 out of 5 by from I Was So Mad (Little Critter) 1) Book summary: I love how Mayer created a book about feeling angry. Each students can relate to having different emotions and feelings even at a younger age. I love how the book shows the Critter family saying no to everything Little Critter wants to do. It teaches that not everytime you ask for something the answer will always be yes. 2) Grade level, interest level, lexile: The grade level for this book is preschool- 2nd grade. The interest level for this book I would recommend the age group 2-5 years old. The lexile for this book is 430l. 3) Appropriate classroom use (subject area): I can use this book when it comes to getting out the seat all the time, and wanting to go to the restroom. One way I would incorporate this book inside of my classroom is during reading time. 4) Individual students who might benefit from reading: I would incorporate this book for students who are having problems throughout the day and before recess have him/her read this book before free time. 5) Small group use (literary circles): This book can be used during small reading groups to test the students knowledge on new spelling words or introducing new words.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent teaching books. I have a 2 year old that carries these books everywhere. This one teaches her that it's OK to be mad sometimes and helps her to deal with it. By hearing these stories over and over she has become very capable of expressing herself. She has learnt so many new words and concepts. Thanks
