Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Favourite in the Trilogy I think I carry an unpopular opinion in believing that this is the best Divergent book. If you've read DIVERGENT, please do yourself a favour and read INSURGENT. Character motivation and plot are best in this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK book with less interesting plot than the first I didn't like this as much as I liked the first one, but it was still good and I kept struggling with putting it down, I wanted to know the end. But, not because I cared for Tris, but because I cared for Four. I hated Tris in this book and as far as I'm concerned she was weak and annoying and was starting to become mean to Four. He should have picked a girl that would treat him well. Just like in the first book, I think the author managed to describe the world in a great way and I really got an image in my mind and that's something I really like. I want to see the world and Veronica Roth really made that possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rollercoaster ride It's an emotional roller coaster ride that creates a simulation of your own. A simulation that only ends when you read the last words.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great story. Well written and a good pace to the story. Continuity was good. The book was hard to put down and left the reader begging to get their hands on the next installment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insurgent-veronica Roth A continuing story of Divergent Insurgent is still factions trying to over come each other to be beyond their states to be the one persent not the99%. Mind controlling an entire City of peopleis evil , that 's our nature to creat slaves to do the hard work. Factions are like egypt, india, china and even america to think you your selv are better then your neighbor who kill each other with no remorse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insurgent Tris and Four come back again stronger, smarter and cooler than before! Veronica Roth also really tells more about all of the factions including factionless! You get a bit more background information, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AWESOME Insurent is an interesting book, not prefrably my favouite out of the 3, but still a great book. I still don't undertand how author {Veronica Roth} makes the main character {Tris} sound so believable as the 16 year old teenager. It's as almost if Tris is writing a diary, even though, during a somewhat war you probably woudn't have time to write about how you felt today. My recomendation for readers, is to find time in your day to read this book, because once you start a chapter, you're going to want to read another 5 or 6 chapter. Can' t wait for the movie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insurgent Insurgent is a wonderfull adition to the Diverget series. It is truely amazing how Roth put in unexpected Divergent characters, and how that thing with Caleb... Wow. So, i am Erudite, but none of you people will know why... So, if you are Divergent, write a review too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good and bad It's a good book but it's too gory because it's not nice to kill a 12 year old.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings. Starts off strong, fizzles out in the middle and has a strong ending. I will read the 3rd book (Allegiant) My OVERALL impression was only "okay". I wanted to love it because Divergent was so good. I loved the 1st half of the book but then, towards the middle, it got kinda iffy for me (good scenes were cut too short, seemed choppy, useless/repetitive scenes were long & drawn out, too much going on without enough detail or description to really get into each situation). The characters, whom I loved, started to annoy me. Thankfully, towards the end it got really good again (the perfect balance of character interaction, action, story development). My curiosity & hope got me through to the end. I'm glad I made it to the end because the ending was better. I've heard that Allegiant is better with very divided opinions about the end (love or hate it). Insurgent reminded me a lot of "Mockingjay", the 3rd book in the "Hunger Games" trilogy in that the general feel of this book is more about political scheming, revolution and warfare. Divergent was more about human emotions, values & relationships. Insurgent starts off with a strong emotional pull towards Tris & Tobias but then the rest of the book dulls them out when their relationship SHOULD be getting more & more intense as the story progresses. Was the author was getting tired of describing their relationship midway into the book? The first half of Insurgent is really good & deals a lot with the aftermath of what happens in Divergent, on an emotional & psychological level but then all goes numb after that. The second half of the book is all about plots & fighting. Insurgent is very unbalanced in the way it is told and is lacking depth. It's almost as though the author was having trouble getting sufficient material down to get a decent amount of pages written. Technical stuff: Teen/YA dystopian. Violence, weaponry, warfare (there is no sex). I read at an average speed and it took me 12 hours to read Insurgent. Book 2 of 3 with add-on novellas.

“Insurgent explores several critical themes, including the importance of family and the crippling power of grief at its loss. A very good read.”
