Disappointed that this book is the old version (display however shows the updated cover). Know that there were important changes in the new edition (i.e. white potatoes now allowed). Still a great book, just false advertising.

Who doesn't want to eat whatever they want?! I did a whole30 before reading this book, using their website for information. I now have additional information and resources to use when I start my next whole30

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Starts With Food For anyone who recognizes the bad relationship they have with food (and that food has with them) this is a very well written book on how food affects you physically, hormonally, psychologically and what you can do to change it! If after reading it you decide to do the Whole30 30 day challenge described, I can guarantee it will change your life, in one way or another. The book explains a lot about the science behind why we feel full, cravings, and especially how a lot of the processed foods we eat today change us (typically not in a good way). This book outlines a truly sustainable way to change the way you eat forever if you are willing to put the effort in. I have been recommending it to everyone I know!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic, Must Read Paleo/Whole30 Book! Whether you are a Paleo/Whole30 newbie, skeptic, or a hardcore nerd you will love this book! Dallas & Melissa have distilled over 400+ scientific references (located at the back of the book) as well as their experience with their Whole9/Whole30 program into a single, concise, completely awesome book! The book has a great, easy to read flow to it, with their classic humour interwoven into it. The basic outline of the books runs through: 1) The 4 "Good Food" principles that they use to evaluate food that will make you healthier (or won't) 2) Using this criteria, they evaluate which food should make up the bulk of your nutrition (and those that don't make the cut are clearly spelled out and why) 3) How to go about implementing their Whole30 plan based on the above and lastly ... a meal map! Think of this as a culinary "given a man a fish vs. teach him how to fish" type of approach. You will learn some basic templates for various types of dishes and then some suggestions .. the rest is up to you .. use your imagination! Personally I think the Meal Map is worth the price of the book alone! The most anticipated meal in this book (IMHO) has to be Dallas' mocha steak rub! What could be better than a nice juicy steak marinated in coffee and chocolate (oh and other spices too).
