Rated 4 out of 5 by from An excellent collection The challenge of writing good short fiction is difficult enough, but to write good short science fiction always seemed to me to be even more difficult, given the "extras" you need to introduce, explain, and deliver in the same space. Sawyer delivers a great collection of short fiction here. With his usual style of combining a kind of sociological or psychological bent to his tales (and characters), Sawyer lends even his short fiction with a grander depth. If you want to try Sawyer out for a "test run," his short fiction is a good place to begin.

Editorial Reviews

"From prehistoric vampires to orbiting murder mysteries to intergalactic exploration, nothing is off-limits to Sawyer's imagination." "-- Quill & Quire" "Sawyer has a gift for casting jarringly original ideas in lucid, sharp-edged prose that mainstream fiction as well as SF readers should appreciate." "-- Booklist" "These are stories to make you drunk on imagination; they're narcotics of science and philosophy." "-- FFWD Weekly" "Science Fiction fans everywhere will find something to enjoy in "Iterations and Other Stories," . . A fine addition to any short fiction collection focusing on science fiction." -- "The Midwest Book Review"
