about

Gwyneth Paltrow, Academy-Award winning actress and bestselling cookbook author, returns with recipes for the foods she eats when she wants to lose weight, look good, and feel more energetic.

Last spring, after a particularly grueling schedule and lapse of overindulgence, Gwyneth Paltrow was feeling fatigued and faint. A visit to her doctor revealed that she was anemic, vitamin D deficient, and that her stress levels were sky high. He prescribed an elimination diet to clear out her system and help her body heal. But this meant no coffee, no alcohol, no dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no shellfish, no deep-water fish, no wheat, no meat, no soy, nothing processed at all!

An avid foodie, Paltrow was concerned that so many restrictions would make mealtime boring, so, together with Julia Turshen, she compiled a collection of 185 delicious, easy recipes that followed her doctor's guidelines. And it worked! After changing her diet, Paltrow healed totally, felt more energetic and looked great. Now, in IT'S ALL GOOD, she shares the go-to dishes that have become the baseline for the restorative diet she turns to whenever she feels she needs it. Recipes include: Huevos Rancheros, Hummus Tartine with Scallion-Mint Pesto, Salmon Burgers with Pickled Ginger, even Power Brownies, Banana "Ice Cream," and more!

Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar Award-winning actor and author of the New York Times bestselling cookbooks My Father's Daughter and It's All Good. She is founder of the website Goop, which covers food, fashion, fitness, and travel. Paltrow is an actress, businesswoman, and mother who lives in Los Angeles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from yeah... no Reading this book is like eating soggy fries... you can do it if you want to but no one ever recommends it. I don't understand why there are so many pictures of Gwyneth in the book. It doesn't make sense. Did she think this is a freaking magazine. It is on my coffee table because the pictures are nice but the recipes are so so or have a bajillion "whole foods" ingredients. Ain't nobody got time or $$$ for that. BYEEE

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Refreshing! This was one of the first gluten free friendly cookbooks I bought when I had to go gluten free, and I love it! It still remains one of my favourite go-to cookbooks, and now my parents even have their own beloved copy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from More of a "hey, look at my fantastic life!" than a cookbook. Impractical recipes and lifestyle advice from a Very high horse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly better than I thought I am not a fan of Gwyneth per se, but this cookbook was a fantastic buy. Some recipes require many ingredients but are worth the extra effort. Full of delicious meals for you and your family to enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Literally all good The perfect book for anyone trying to kickstart a healthy lifestyle without too many restrictions. All of the recipes I've made so far have turned out fantastic and tasty. This book helped my father, who is overweight, lose 15lbs in under a month. A must for the healthy cook. Only con: some ingredients are slightly hard to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FABULOUS cook book! This is a wonderful cook book! Very simple but tasty recipes all from common home ingredients. I am not one to go out and buy a random spice or product for one recipe so having all the ingredients common house hold ones makes cooking easy. I also really like that it is tailored to those with strict diets (i.e. I am gluten free, dairy free, and sugar free) but also can be easily altered to accommodate those who are not (makes cooking for my partner and I very easy). None-the-less you never loose flavor and feel great after every meal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never disappoints! I haven't made a recipe from this book that I didn't enjoy. Some of the recipes are now staples in my kitchen - like the "Go-To" Black Beans, Yogurt-Tahini salad dressing, and Pickled Jalapenos. I do tweak some of the ingredients (like using regular mayonnaise instead of Vegenaise), and everything turns out perfectly. Would definitely recommend this cookbook!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great recipes, simple, cost-effective substitutions Love, love this cookbook! Yes, recipes can get expensive, but if you're open to playing around with the ingredients you can cut costs. I make her quinoa granola with regular oats (still delicious and one batch lasts my husband and I a week) and for most soups I use store bought stock and dried herbs. I swear by her chipotle sweet potato soup; bonus, the can of peppers lasts months in the fridge. My substitutions may not vibe with the clean message behind the book, but I'm not a mega-rich superstar so I'm sure she'd forgive me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good recipes So far everything that I have tried has turned out great and exactly as described. Very good taste and healthy ingredients. I look forward to trying more recipes. I feel comfortable trying any recipe in the book knowing it should turn out as described plus taste good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks great but A LOT of ingredients required I bought this because I wanted to try a new cookbook with healthy food in it and possibly some vegetarian recipes. The food looked great and sounded yummy (most things) but the list of required ingredients was so very long that one meal would have taken up a lot of time to construct and a lot of money to make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can't wait for meal time! The delicious green juice recipe is addictive. Her sautéed corn recipe has won me over to chimichurri sauce after I said I would never eat it again (another famous chefs recipe.) I have tried over 2 dozen recipes in the last month and only 1 I would rate at 4/5. The rest were all 5/5. Be prepared to restock your pantry with foods you might never have used before. My husband and I are feeling much healthier, full of energy and happier. He weighed himself 2 days ago worried that after eating so much food that he would weigh more. I was 1 dress size smaller and 8 pounds. He was 10 pounds less. This book does not list sugars, or calories or fats. The title says it all, It's All Good.
