about

New York Times bestselling author and social media expert Gary Vaynerchuk shares hard-won advice on how to connect with customers and beat the competition. A mash-up of the best elements of Crush It! and The Thank You Economy with a fresh spin, Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook is a blueprint to social media marketing strategies that really works.

When managers and marketers outline their social media strategies, they plan for the “right hook”—their next sale or campaign that’s going to knock out the competition. Even companies committed to jabbing—patiently engaging with customers to build the relationships crucial to successful social media campaigns—want to land the punch that will take down their opponent or their customer’s resistance in one blow. Right hooks convert traffic to sales and easily show results. Except when they don’t.

Thanks to massive change and proliferation in social media platforms, the winning combination of jabs and right hooks is different now. Vaynerchuk shows that while communication is still key, context matters more than ever. It’s not just about developing high-quality content, but developing high-quality content perfectly adapted to specific social media platforms and mobile devices—content tailor-made for Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and Tumblr.

Gary Vaynerchuk is first and foremost a storytelling entrepreneur. He is also aNew York Timesbestselling author, and his digital consulting agency, VaynerMedia, works with Fortune 500 companies to develop digital and social media strategies and content.Businessweekselected him as one of the top twenty people every entrepreneur should f...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great examples! I really enjoyed reading this book. Each chapter focuses on a different social media platform and provides excellent tips and dos and don’ts. The author even provides pictures of examples and reasoning as to why it worked or why it didn’t. The book is a bit old (November 2013) but I think it still has some valuable insights. It’s neat to be able to look back and see how much each platform has changed in the past four years. He thinks Google glass will take off, and as we now know, it didn’t. He also makes predictions about then up and coming platforms like Snapchat and Vine, but I won’t that spoil for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gary Vee does it again! Another great book Gary really does a great job putting together the framework and mindset when posting on Social Media as a business owner/entrepreneur. The thing I like about this book is that it does give you actionable items but also gives concepts that allow for critical thinking when you are about to launch products in who you can captivate and build an audience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A bit dated now Social media changes so quickly that some of the information in this book is dated, but it's still a foundational book for anyone who wants to understand the concepts and strategies for social channels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best book I've read this year! If you love social media you will love this book! If you are a small business owner or someone who needs to update their social media knowledge, you will find this book of value. Gary succinctly explains the ins and outs of the five major social media platforms, and how you can successfully use them if you take time to understand the intricacies of each. Finally, one of my favourite quotes, "if content is king, context is God"
