Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun read ! This book is about how important looks can be... or not. Jane Green made this book fun, entertaining, full of surprises and we really get into the mindset of the main character. This book is very different from her other other books, which are more and more about depressing cheating husbands leaving their wives stories.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Oh yeah. I'm going there. Loved it orignally. I thought it was a lovely book, for chick lit material and would have recommended it to anyone. Now I see the book for what it is. This book teaches us that hypocrisy is only acceptable when you’re beautiful or when it positively involves the man of your dreams. And lest we forget, it also teaches us that being vapid seems to have a mutually exclusive relationship to the amount of weight one loses. I wanted to originally give this book 1.5 ...maple leafs but that's not an option. I can't say I don't like it because I did honestly like the book for a long time. But saying it "Wasn't Bad" seems a bit too overenthusiastic of a rave for me. I hate to admit it; but for a while this book was to me, is what Twilight is to a Twitard. Don't worry. I've taken the vaccine. I'm fine now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely brilliant.... All I can possibly say about Jemima J. is... Absolutely Brillant! Jane Green's writing style alone - interplay of first person and reporter narrative - is worth reading the book for. Recommended for anyone who loves Marian Keyes and Helen Fielding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Inspirational Story This is a must read for those who think they cannot make their dreams come true. Jemima proves that anyone can achieve anything their heart desires. With a little perseverance, you can achange your outlook on life and triumph over those who look down on you. I thought this was a great motivational story for those wanting a little change in their lives. I love how Jemima takes a chance and does something as crazy as going to LA to meet her internet guy, only to have it change her life for the better. This is a tale for those who don't believe anything is possible. After reading this, I felt that taking chances definitely has its rewards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jemima J Rocked my World My first time sitting down with a Jane Green book, but it took me no time at all to read it. Literally woke up early to finish it. This is a fairy tale for anyone who has ever had a love affair with Sara Lee, or Haagen Daas.... for anyone who has ever tried to fill their appetite for love and affection through food. In a way that is neither condescending nor cliched, this is the story of Jemima J, a lonely Londoner who is living with being overweight in a way that is both heartbreaking and inspiring. However,Jemima J is someone all women can relate to, regardless of their size. Beyond how we appear on the on the exterior, we all remain the same inside, and share the same desire: to be loved for who we are and what we have to offer. Jemima J is a fantastic read with many unexpected surprises. This is a book that looks beyond the rules of attraction and truly shows us what draws us to other people; what makes us fall in love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent escapism When I picked up this book, I was looking for a little escapism and some light reading. I found that and more! _Jemima J_ is a wondeful read. It reminded me right away of Wally Lamb's _She's Come Undone_ and I read it in much the same way: almost all in one sitting, until I finished it at 4 in the morning...I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Jemima Jones is a character that you instantly like and you want to see her find love and happiness. I can't wait to pick up another of Jane Green's novels to see what other compelling characters she's created.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!!! This was one of the best books I've ever read. Jane Green make Jemima into a character that most of us can identify with, her struggles, her thoughts and her quest for acceptance, happiness and finding true love. While doing all this making us aware that being perfect is not all it cracked up to be.
