Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy easy read great recipes I loved this book. If you are serious about changing the way you eat and reorganizing your kitchen pantry it's for you. The author writes about healthy lifestyle changes in everyday language unlike some books that are too clinical.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not just a cookbook I love that this book is not just a recipe book, but rather an introduction to living a healthier lifestyle.Joy talks about health from a holistic perspective, not just mentioning the importance of the food we eat, but also the products we choose to use on our bodies and in our homes. The recipes are simple and tasty. I feel like this book should be on the to-read list of anyone looking to improve their overall health.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Book I really enjoyed this book. It's not just a recipe book it's also packed with information about healthy living. I tried her recipe for turmeric tea and now I make it everyday. It has amazing health benefits and tastes earthy, spicy, slightly sweet and above all delicious!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just okay I bought this expecting a recipe book. In reality, it's more of a "healthy lifestyle" book which is not really what I wanted or needed. The actual recipes were just okay and felt very standard.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good read but be careful Overall a good read but just be sure you talk to a healthcare professional before trying to implement some of the advice the nutritionist author is suggesting. For example her suggestion of drinking half a squeezed lemon mixed in 500ml of water (she states the water has to turn cloudy to know you've gotten enough lemon juice) first thing in the morning every day caused an ulcer after doing this for 2 weeks!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Huge Fan I have followed Joy for many years and was excited for this cookbook. I live in a small town and found some of the ingredients hard to find. I got to admit I don't use this book as much as I'd like due to this. I also own Oh She Glows and find that Angela perfects similar recipes to Joy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Cookbook! This is my all time favourite cookbook. The recipes use basic ingredients and are delicious. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book I love this book. Lots of great recipes and info. I recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic recipes that are either a hit or miss Majority of the book is on nutrition and holistic lifestyle modifications, which serves as a good refresher for those familiar with whole foods diets. If healthy eating is something you're needing to incorporate, the book is a great crash course too. I was going to return it because its slim section of recipes is rather basic, but I found that many are fine templates for adapting. However, I've tried a few recipes that were just too bland or came out with odd texture, like the coconut pancakes that turned out like egg crepes but crumbled apart with one touch. On the other hand, I love that bean tempeh chilli. So what the book lacks in culinary creativity, it makes up for in its simple and comprehensive approach to healthy eating. However, a side criticism I have is the author's penchant for "joyous" branding (you'll see what I mean when you flip through it), due to the author's background in marketing. It becomes somewhat tedious to read over and over again, and attempts at branding whole foods is something that makes my eyes roll to the high heavens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, easy-to-read and follow book! This book has some great health suggestions on the front and the recipes are delicious and FAST to make. I have bought several similar books in the past and usually it takes a LOT of time to make some of the recipes but Joy's recipes are delicious, nutritious and easy to make! Great book for anyone who wants to become more healthy, for us "foodies" and really anyone!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this! This book makes it so easy to understand the simple changes that can be made to a person's diet in order to achieve better health. I haven't book a "cook book" in a decade or more and this purchase was SO worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back to basics! I've had this book for over a month now and have implemented some of her suggestions. It's an easy to read book with great pictures. Not too wordy and keeps your attention. My primary purpose for purchasing this book (and a few others at the same time) is because I have an autoimmune disease (RA), plus have a gluten intolerance that's been causing me more than usual complications the last year. I've now been gluten-free for over a month and feel great. My swelling and eczema have gone away. The book gives options for both gluten or non-gluten. Having said this, I have tried a few of her recipes (overnight strawberry chia pudding and chili and cinnamon chocolate bark) and was extremely disappointed and ended up throwing out the end product. This is not a book for you if you're looking for recipes. It's a book about implementing small changes in your lifestyle. Starting the day with lemon in warm water, practicing mindful eating and rotating your foods are some. I find this to be more of a reference book that I have gone back to for that reason. Just like the book says "the path to Joyous Health".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This sure is one Joyous Cook Book! This book, Joyous Health, is half a nutritional education book and half a cookbook. I would highly recommend this book if you are wanting to make changes to the way you look at what you eat (as in quality = quality health) and if you are looking for some of the best clean eating recipes on the market. Every recipe I have tried has been amazing and this is my introduction to eating this way. So from one fast food junkie to another - if you are wanting to change this is a great place to start!!! Thanks Joy - you do make food Joyous :) Susan

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Facts and Ideas I love this simple to read book about healthy eating. It gives fast and pertinent info on many things like, high fibre foods, inflammatory foods, things that are good for your gut, as well as the dirty dozen (foods to buy organic) and those that are not so bad. These are but a few. I am quite familiar with many of the things discussed, but still found the book very useful. Some great recipes and wonderful ideas for healthy living overall. Highly recommend this book for people who are just getting into healthy eating and those that are well versed too. She has great recipes online too!! Love her!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Buy! I bought this book a month ago and can't believe how much I use it each week! The breakfast recipes are easy to make and use simple ingredients. I love the fact that there is also information about diet, lifestyle and nutrition that actually help readers understand why eating properly is so important! She's also Canadian! A huge plus :) This is a great cookbook to add to any collection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Practical, Beautifully Presented Wellness Book I purchased this book in March and haven't stopped referencing it! The book is wonderfully written. The first half of the book has practical and easily applicable wellness advice on how to make small changes to live a healthier and balanced lifestyle. The second half of the book provides simple recipes for all meals and snacks. The recipes are great because they use short lists of common ingredients. A must read!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My bible! I was not expecting to buy this book (or any book for that matter) until i picked this one up and started glancing through the pages. Immediately, I was hooked!! This book is SO informative and in my mind I was trying to remember all this information and realized that this is exactly what I needed. I had to have it! it's also filled with so many realistic easy and healthy recipes! often times, cookbooks require you to go out and buy some absurd ingredient that you will never be able to use again but not this book! it's absolutley amazing and i'm completely obsessed with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Guide to Healthy Habits This is a fantastic book. We have so many "healthy cookbooks" but this is the first one that we (a household with two teenage girls) actually use on a regular basis. The information is clear and easy to absorb. The recipes use ingredients that are easy to find and every one that we have tried is delicious! A wonderful guide to developing healthy habits.
