Thirty years ago, Peter and Judy first found the game-Jumanji - with the instructions that once the game is started, it must be finished or it will&nbspgo on forever-and thirty years ago, with this same wonderment,&nbspreaders found Jumanji, too.
&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Since its&nbsporiginal&nbsppublication, Jumanji has been honored with many awards, including the Caldecott Medal and the National Book Award, and in 1996, the surreal story was adapted to fit the big screen.&nbsp
&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp This special anniversary edition of Jumanji contains a downloadable audiobook of&nbsp the renowned actor Robin Williams reading the timeless tale, as well as a redeemable code for a brand-new Jumanji app commemorating the book's three decades of astounding success.
Chris Van Allsburg is the winner of two Caldecott Medals, for Jumanji and The Polar Express, as well as the recipient of a Caldecott Honor for The Garden of Abdul Gasazi . Van Allsburg has written numerous picture books for children and was awarded the Regina Medal for lifetime achievement in children's literature. www.chrisvanal...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from such a cool book! loved this book. i used this to teach a short story unit in my grade 4 class and they loved how the pictures linked with the story! it was really neat to teach how the book and movie don't always match up either!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Different From The Movie I grew up with the movie, so when I found out there was a book first I just had to read it. I found it a bit dull compared to the movie and was surprised to find that it was just a picture book (I thought it would have been a grand chapter book full of excitement like the movie). However my 4 year old LOVES this book.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Diasappointing! I found this book boring and unexciting! I feel baffled by its popularity.

Editorial Reviews

Mr. Van Allsburg's illustrations have a beautiful simplicity of design, balance, texture, and a subtle intelligence beyond the call of illustration." The New York Times"
