Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beauty and the beast I had hoped this book would be the perfect fit for me, I love hockey, I enjoy a good romance novel, what wasn't to like? But the first 2/3 of this book really dragged and did little to move the plot along. I think the author was trying to build sexual tension between Faith (team owner) and Ty (team captain) but it didn't really work for me. Then the last 1/3 of the book was nice and steamy, Faith/Ty's romance was a roller coaster and I enjoyed the ride. My criticism is that the book wasted time building the plot and then ended far too abruptly. I did enjoy the hockey theme in the background (notwithstanding its lack of accuracy) and when the romance finally happened, it was worth the wait.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly enough I could not put it down I picked this title up used after I read one of her other books and really did not have too many expectations. I loved Faith's courage. She freely admits she married a much older man for money and security - she did grow to love him in a fashion and she was faithful - but behind it all she admits to her roots and doesn't apologize for it. I admired that and found her a compelling character. Ty was just so primitive and sexual that you didn't have to wonder at her attraction to him. He also did the sweetest, most unexpected things that I found myself unable to stop reading their story. Gibson built up the sexual tension wonderfully between Ty and Faith and didn't try to go for the full monty to early. There are characters from other books in the series mentioned but it is not required to read the series in order. There is some hockey and sports metaphors but it is not too overwhelming to the story. True Love and Other Disasters is a light sexy read and it totally pulled me into the story and I enjoyed the ride.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of those "Other Disasters" I really really did not enjoy this book. Why did I read this book in the first place? Because I liked the title and read some great reviews of this book. I honestly did not like any of the characters and I didn't feel there was enough interaction between the characters for them to fall in love. Another thing I didn't enjoy was the amount of hockey in this book. It's not that I don't like hockey, because I do, but I didn't pick up this book to read about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great Rachel Gibson Book I've been waiting for another of Rachel's books for ages and she doesn't disappoint with this one. If you're a fan - you'll love it and if you haven't read one of Rachel's books - this is a great read. I didn't think I was going to enjoy this as much as her others but boy was I wrong.
