Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Perfect Ending Totally worth the read if you have read the rest of the series. If you haven't yet gotten to this, what are you waiting for?! There is so much drama and action mixed in with humorous and romantic scenes; all these layers add such depth to the novel, so if there is a character or story plot you may not like (which is HIGHLY unlikely) there is always something else to read about, because there are so many characters and so many different storylines. It gets a little long, but that just makes it even more worth the buy; you can take your time reading, write some notes as you go, and pause often to take it all in (because there is a lot to take in, my friend).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Ending I enjoyed this and how Aelin always has tricks up her sleeve but I'm sad it's all over now for the TOG series, I'll definitely be re-reading the series again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Epic Conclusion! What a great and satisfying ending to this wonderful series! It's amazing to see how far these characters have come and grown since the beginning. The plot is fantastic with something constantly happening as it switches between the different characters and their many struggles across the continent. Lots of epic battles, as well as some interesting insight into the villains. It is also great to see not only Aelin, who we all know is a fierce and brave hero, but many of the other characters get to show their bravery and get a time to shine. Although there are plenty of heartbreaking moments, fans of the series will be satisfied with this conclusion to the series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The End to A Phenomenal Series THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW OF KINGDOM OF ASH MY THOUGHTS: 1. I TRIED not comparing Kingdom of Ash to A Court of Wings and Ruin, but IT JUST KEPT HAPPENING INSIDE MY HEAD. I have to say, in terms of the PLOT, this book took the cake. There was something of substance happening any every point, even though the first 200 or so pages could have been cut out and/ or condensed. There were multiple wars, happening across the continent, with different characters and it was INTERESTING, to say the least. 2. ACOWAR, EVEN DURING THE WAR, WAS A LOVE STORY BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE, BUT KINGDOM OF ASH WAS THE LOVE STORY BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS AND THEIR DREAM OF A BETTER WORLD, AND IT WAS JUST A BETTER BOOK TO READ. 3. Sarah J Maas’ writing, though, pretty much remained the same. There was a repetition of the same thing with different synonyms when she described an emotion or emotional experience. There were a lot of places where there periods were used that SHOULD HAVE BEEN commas, semi-colons or even hyphens being used and that’s to my UNTRAINED EYE. 4. So, basically while the writing was mediocre, the PLOT INTRIGUED ME. Add that together with the fact that I’d been WAITING TO FINISH THIS SERIES, I managed to finish this 988-page monster in three days, and even shed a tear or two at a particular Yrene Towers scene and the king of magic she thought during that time. 5. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO START A PETITION STATING THAT AEDION ASHRYVER WAS THE REAL HERO OF THIS SERIES AND THAT HE DESERVED SO MUCH MORE THANKS. Would I recommend this series? Yes! It has a lot of flaws, and it’s definitely not for younger teens, but the plot, twists and character development are absolutely phenomenal! 4 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, Epic Conclusion I've been head over heels with this series for years. It's been a huge inspiration for me, and I'm sad to see it end, but this finale was worth the wait. Characters old and new returned for a final battle against two vile enemies, and their struggle was one of the most breathtaking things I've ever read. It was a nonstop ride that completely filled all of its nearly 1000 pages. The action was heart-pounding, the romances were swoon-worthy, and the ending left me in tears. I can't get over the strength of these characters. The choices they were willing to make, the sacrifices they did make, it was nothing short of epic and what I expected from this beloved and unconventional court. Aelin, of course, shone like a beacon the entire time and lived up to her name, refusing to bow down and despite her trauma and vulnerabilities, continued to fight to the bitter end with her friends and mate near to her. I could go on and on about how much I love these characters and what they did––Rowan will always have my heart and is the stuff of dreams, Yrene and Elide had courage beyond what I imagined––but I was blown away by Manon for her spectacular arc, and Lysandra turned out to be one of the toughest characters in the TOG world. The myths, lore, magic, and battles, were no holds barred. I literally stayed up an extra two hours past my bedtime to keep reading, because I knew I wouldn't sleep until I reached the ending. It was that impactful, and the ending that intense. I definitely spent the last ten or so pages crying, because I'm sad to see this series and these characters go. Their hardships and trials were nothing short of legendary, which Aelin being one of the most powerful and inspiring women in all of Young Adult fiction. I'll never forget this ending.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection I finished this book yesterday, and still I can't get my thoughts to make sense. The finale definitely didn't disappoint, and I miss this series already. Looking forward to next summer when I can binge read this series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Adventurous Finale! What a wild, jaw clenching and heartstopping journey. I'm only talking about this book, not even the whole series! For the Throne of Glass series as a whole, I have not been devout. I've liked some of the books and I have disliked some of the books in the series. I knew I would finish the series at some point but I didn't expect to go out and get a copy of the finale during the week it was released. I also didn't expect the emotions that came with reading this book. Half of it was the dread of the unknown and anticipation! I went through each chapter expecting all of the characters to be killed off (I'm not saying whether that prediction happened or not). I literally had to put the book down every couple of chapters because the suspense was too much for me, made even worse by the alternating and changing of points of view. Without giving any spoilers, this was an epic finale. I think fans of the series will appreciate this as a concluding novel. I appreciated this novel and I would not necessarily consider myself a huge fan. I must admit, that those looking at this novel critically, may see a lot of the events of this novel as being too....convenient and I do recognize that critique. But I think it was a really good ending to a series and kept the suspense and anticipation throughout. It may have been a tad bit longer than necessary (approaching 1000 pages) but I didn't have moments where I was overly bored while reading. If anything, those moments of boredom may have been necessary to relieve some of that tension that was building due to the unknown. A very good ending to a series that has had both highs and lows for me. I'm happy to say goodbye to this series and these characters on a high note with a feeling of being content on how this series has ended.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fails to Stick the Landing This will delight the majority of SJM's fans, but for my money this finale lacks depth and stakes. Can't really get into it without spoilers, but safe to say this doesn't live up to the promise of the first 4 books.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from mediocre I can already tell that this book is going to be as mediocre as the last two (queen of shadows and empire of storms). let's just hope aelin isn't as annoying in those books as this one
