Rated 4 out of 5 by from two sides to every story LATYMER is the fourth storyline (novella) in Tracey Devlyn’s Nexus series set during the backdrop of the French Revolution and Napoleon’s attempts to conquer Europe. The Nexus Agency is a group of spies working for the British government and Latymer can only be considered a double agent-working for both the French and British government. The storyline is told from two distinctly different POVs-third person via Latymer and first person through the eyes of Latymer’s nine year old son Giles. The storyline follows Latymer as he and his son attempt to leave England for America. But the agents of Nexus are hunting him down and the French want Latymer to reveal the whereabouts of Lord Somerton. What ensues is the hunt for the people responsible for his son’s disappearance and the final act of a father who so loves the son he barely knew. Tracey Devlyn has written a storyline that reveals there are always two sides to every story. Latymer has been the epitome of evil throughout the previous three stories but Latymer has a soft side where it concerns the woman that he loved and the son he wanted to protect. This is a heartbreaking story about a father’s love for his son and the lengths to which he will go to save his life.
