about

There’s a new bad boy in town…

Harley-riding cowboy Sawyer Kane is two parts swagger, one part sexy drawl, and all parts off limits. At least as far as Mia Sherman is concerned. After barely surviving her last relationship, Lonesome Point’s resident prankster has sworn off men. It’s for the best, really, considering her family is cursed—a real Irish curse that dooms each first born daughter to lose her husband on her wedding night.

But when long hot days talking history become longer, hotter nights with a man who smells like heaven, kisses like he means it, and can melt her panties off with one sexy smile, Mia realizes she wants more than a summer fling.

Too bad forever is forever beyond her reach.

Can true love conquer all, even a centuries-old curse? Mia and Sawyer may be the first to find out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leather and Lace Great book just like the rest of the series so far can't wait to the read the rest of the books. I started with book 4 not realizing that it was a series and when I found the rest of the books I bought them all

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leather & Lace (The "F" word) I was enjoying the book story line and found the excessive use of the "F " word half way through the book unnecessary! Enjoyed the humour at the first of the book, some of the terms used during the "love" scenes were over used and not needed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little bit of everything This book has humor, romance, a bit of suspense and ghosts. Mia is a strong young woman getting over a bad relationship and Sawyer a man who has and his own bumps on the road. Together they can overcome anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big, Bald and Delicious! This is the first book in a 4 part series, but they are all stand alones, so no cliffhangers. We meet Mia, at the beginning of the book, when she is being a big prankster with her two besties, Bubba and Ugly Ross. I love her attitude and I felt like Ms. Evans brought the character fully to life. Mia has a sparkly and bubbly personality, but she is hiding from a bad relationship that we learn more about as the story goes on. Within the first couple of pages, she literally runs into Sawyer and the story really takes off from there. Due to Mia's past and the tales of an old family curse, she doesn't want to get involved with another man. But as an original descendent of the founding family, she ends up having to show him around the old buildings of their ghost town, as Sawyer is there to bid on restoring it. He is also running from an ugly past and a bad relationship, but he's looking forward to getting to know Mia better and sharing some hot nights with her. There's mystery on both sides of this story, which makes it a really fun read. When Mia's dangerous ex shows up in town, they both quickly learn that sometimes, you meet the right person for the long haul and it's time to take that leap of faith. I loved all the quirky characters and look forward to reading their stories as well. The next book features Bubba, so I'm looking forward to learning more about his singing and his story. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone that enjoys romance and mystery together. **Complimentary Copy provided by Author for an honest review.**

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another Delightful and Entertaining Success 4 ½ stars -- Jessie Evans has written a surprisingly different kind of romance, but I loved every minute of it. Leather and Lace was definitely unlike the other series written by Ms. Evans, but I must say was very entertaining and unquestionably, in my mind, a success. Mia Sherman is an outgoing, fun-loving young woman born and raised in the town of Lonesome Point, Texas and is a decedent of the family who founded the small town. After escaping from a horrifying situation while attending graduate school in California, Mia runs back to her hometown to the comfort and safety of her family and the friends who have always loved her. Weary on taking the chance of letting another man into her life, Mia makes the decision to keep her heart safe and protected guarding against the possibility of again letting anyone in who may ultimately end up hurting her. But when a handsome and magnificently intriguing stranger rides into town on his Harley, Mia is hard-pressed to maintain her distance despite the fear that continues to arise within her. Sawyer Kane works at restoring old ghost towns bringing them back to their former glory to bolster tourism. When he arrives in Lonesome Point to bid on the town’s current restoration project, he is surprisingly knocked off his feet by a beautiful redhead who immediately catches his attention. Although he makes every attempt to get her to say yes to a date, Mia continuously belays his advances insisting on keeping their relationship on the level of friendship. But when Sawyer discovers Mia is to be his guide through the history of the town and renovation venture, he is happily surprised knowing he will be able to spend more time with her and get to know Mia and simply have some fun together. But when Mia’s threatening past comes back to haunt her, Sawyer comes to the realization that this spirited and beautiful woman has come to mean more to him than he ever anticipated was possible and will do anything within his power to protect her and keep her safe from harm. The spark and chemistry between Mia and Sawyer definitely ignited the pages on my kindle. The fun and banter between not only the main characters but the supporting cast as well was amusing and enjoyable. There were definitely some surprising elements which I have never encountered, but which gave this book a bit of a different twist. Leather and Lace is a delightful and gratifying story of two people who have suffered from circumstances of their past, but whose hearts and souls ultimately join together helping each other to overcome those incidents to heal and find love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love me some Cowboy Ghost and Dangerous Ex boyfriends oh MY. What a great story, starting off with a thrill seeking girl orally attacking a stranger ;) This book is not shy on action. Mia is afraid to get married because of an old family curse. Although Sawyer does not believe in curses he is starting to think ghost exist. Really enjoyed the story, waiting for #2 Bubba's story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved, loved, loved this book! This book is set in Lonesome Point, Texas - and I never want to leave! The cover pulled me in with 'cowboy' but I got so much more! Mia meets Sawyer while pulling off a hilarious prank with her friends which sets the tone for this sexy and fun read. I love how they are both real people dealing with life as it is thrown at you. Throw in a ghost town - with real ghosts, a family curse as well as some real danger and that adds up to this 5-star read. I can't wait for Bubba's story!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Sawyer! I have read all of Jessie's books and she is amazing! I love the way she writes; it's so clean, fresh and witty. She makes small towns come to life and you feel like you are home. Mia lives in Lonesome Point and owns a lingerie shop and one night she literally runs into Sawyer. He's in town to bid on a construction job in the Old Ghost Town. Mia doesn't think she will see him again, but they keep running into each other. He's a smokin' hot, harley riding cowboy and she can't help but be attracted to him, but she's scared. They are both still getting over bad past relationships but they can't fight the attraction between them. This is a sweet, hot, funny and mysterious story! I was on the edge of my seat wanting to read faster to see how it was going to end. I can't wait for the next one! He mounted the machine with an easy grace that made Mia's mouth go dry, and things low in her body envy the leather between his thighs. He'd forgotten that simply the feel of soft curves pressed to his chest and a woman's mouth, warm and alive against his own, could make him ache like he'd been on the receiving end of a ten-minute blog job. "You really are enormous aren't you?" Sawyer shrugged uncomfortably, hoping it wasn't his size that was making her anxious. "Been told that once or twice, but I'm harmless." "I'd just rather be sober," he said, heat in his gaze. "If I'm lucky enough to get you out of those clothes, I want to remember every second of it."
