Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much fun! The second Discworld novel picks up where The Colour of Magic left off. It is hard to put down, and I've gotten strange looks when reading it in public (I couldn't stop laughing). Read it!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Terry Pratchett There is not another author out there that delivers such a perfect and entertaining story every single time as Terry Pratchett. This book is another example of how amazing a writer he is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly enjoyable The second installment in the Discworld universe doesn't disappoint. It might help to read The Colour of Magic first, since it sets much of the action in motion. Such fun to read!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the first! I enjoyed this sequel over the first novel in Rincewind's story. Its humor is frequent and effective, the plot is simple but well paced, and the characters are heartfelt and amiable. It made me sad Mr Pratchett is passed on. His light shines fantastically in this Discworld series entry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great read.... Again, Terry Pratchett has displayed his brilliance in the Discworld series. Book number 2 reads even MORE like Monty Python.... a wonderful, clever series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for a sunny afternoon Typical Pratchett, his life observations are once again translated brilliantly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pratchett's early works One of Pratchett's earliest novels, The Light Fantastic is a must-read for the Discworld fanatic. It will give you important back-story and help you as you journery through Ankh-Morpork and other areas on the Disc. However, unlike most of Pratchett's novels, this one doesn't make you laugh out loud: rather, it elicits a grin here or there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from better then the first This was a much better fantasy then the first book. I would recommend this to other readers. Maybe they just keep getting better.
