about

Colonel Gordon Dailley MBE. CD (1911-1989), the Unstoppable Canadian, was all this and more: a rolling stone traveller and adventurer, an Olympic gold medalist in hockey and a man who dared to defy Hitler in 1936.

He was a highly decorated veteran who became a United Nations peacekeeper and who was at heart a pacifist. He was a loyal diplomat who served abroad and a patriot at home who played a major role in shaping Expo ‘67, the largest world fair of the 20th century.

The colonel also brought to Canada its very first drive-through wildlife park. Lions, monkeys, elephants, cheetahs, giraffes and rhinoceroses roaming free in large reserves. He named the park African Lion Safari and as its founder never ceased to explore ways to make it better.
