The new novel that fans of the bestselling author have been waiting for, about three sexy, powerful career women who will do anything to stay at the top of their fields

Victory Ford is the darling of the fashion world. Single, attractive, and iconoclastic, she has worked for years to create her own signature line. As Victory struggles to keep her company afloat, she learns crucial lessons about what she really wants in a relationship.

Nico O'Neilly is the glamorous, brilliant editor of Bonfire Magazine--the pop-culture bible for fashion, show business, and politics. Considered one of the most powerful women in publishing, she seems to have it all. But in a mid-life crisis, she suddenly realizes this isn't enough.

Wendy Healy's chutzpah has propelled her to the very top of the cut-throat movie industry. When it becomes clear that a competitor is trying to oust her, something has to give--and Wendy must decide between her career and her marriage.

In Lipstick Jungle, Bushnell once again delivers an addictive page-turner of sex and scandal that will keep readers enthralled and guessing to the very last page.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just an OK Book This was my third Candance Bushnell book and it has been the most disappointing one. Very similar to Sex and the City but not as good as One Fifth Avenue. The characters were exciting although it lacked a solid story line. There was no climax to the book and therefore no part in the book was really super exciting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! This book is great for that long plane ride where you can just sit back and read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Favourite Book!! Personally i think this book was amazing...It was full of drama, and Bushnell did a very good job of creating characters that i could easily imagine...love it more than the show...when ppl ask me what its about i say its sort of like a feminist critique on the corporate world...It may be because I love Fashion & Movies and want to be an Editor, but for me the book was the best thing i've read in a long time...It was a great read and i couldn't put it down...I personally loved Nico and Victory's characters the most...after reading Lipstick Jungle i read Trading Up which i shouldn't have done because Trading up is in some ways a prequel to a side story in the novel...I didn't love trading up as much...had i bought it first i probably wouldn't have picked up lipstick jungle... Thank You Candace for a book that i will treasure... It's a Jungle out there....A Lipstick Jungle

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boring This is my first Candace Bushnell novel and it was so slow that I picked up the pace by skimming thru the book. I've never seen "Sex in the City" but those who have have given it a worthy praise. I guess I expected too much by listening to friends who enjoyed watching SITC.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from mindless entertainment Reading books like this really makes you think of those out there who can just throw their money away on superficial things. Each of the characters brought a different story to the table, but they could have been more developed throughout the book. As a fashion lover myself, this book was enjoyable for those reasons...there is a television show soon to air based around this book with Brooke Shields that has potential interest?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Neverending This book was so boring. It took me forever to finish it. Everytime I started reading it, I had to put it down cause I was bored. I do not recommend this book at all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average The plot was fun, the characters were good, but the book itself was simply average. The first half was slow but interesting enough to keep reading. I would reccomend this book only if you've run out of other things to read.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little disappointed If you've seen any episodes of her TV series, ‘Sex and the City’, this book is very similar. I'm all for women’s rights and equality, but I found this book almost nauseatingly pro-feminist. At several spots I found I had to re-read portions because the authors’ style of writing made me feel like I must have missed some pages because I had no idea what she was talking about. A light read, I finished the book because I wanted to know what happened to the characters, but in hind sight, I would not have chosen to read this book if I knew what it was like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was just okay. This was the first Candace Bushnell novel I read, although I am a huge fan of the Sex and the City TV series. The beginning was slow but once I got past the first few chapters I wanted to finish it to see what happened to the characters. A lot of time passes in the novel so there are a lot of gaps you have to fill in for yourself. Overall it was an okay read, but there are a lot of similarities to Sex and the City.
