Louisa May Alcott was an American novelist best known as the author of the novel Little Women and its sequels Little Men and Jo's Boys. Alcott wrote under various pseudonyms and only started using her own name when she was ready to commit to writing. Her novel Little Women gave Louisa May Alcott financial independence and a lifetime writing career. The novel Little Men reprises characters from Little Women and is considered the second book in the Little Women trilogy. In the novel^ the author details the life of Jo Bhaer and the students at the Plumfield Estate School that Jo runs with her husband Professor Bhaer.
