Seventeen-year-old Violet has always been expected to sit back and let the boys do all the saving

It's the code her father, a member of the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, raised her to live by. Yet when her dad is killed carrying out Terror business, Violet knows it's up to her to do the saving. To protect herself, and her vulnerable younger brother, she needs to cut all ties with the club—including Chevy, the boy she's known and loved her whole life.

But when a rival club comes after Violet, exposing old secrets and making new threats, she's forced to question what she thought she knew about her father, the Reign of Terror and what she thinks she wants. Which means reevaluating everything: love, family, friendsand forgiveness.

Caught in the crosshairs between loyalty and freedom, Violet must decide whether old friends can be trusted—and if she's strong enough to be the one person to save them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Oh man been so long since I've enjoyed an awesome Katie McGarry book and I've forgotten how good they are. The plot was wonderfully mysterious and intriguing. Filled with a good mixture of danger (but not too much), action, secrets and a wide range of emotions. The romance was on point and paced nicely. So cute!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from *Swoons* *Sigh* Where do I begin? Like many other Thunder Road readers, I couldn't wait for Violet and Chevy's book....and I'm so happy to say that Long Way Home was certainly worth the wait. Violet and Chevy's relationship is everything two people can ever hope to find in the love of their life: their best friend. And even though Long Way Home opens at a point when Chevy and Violet are no longer together, its like a breath of fresh air watching them find their way back home again. This is the kind of book you'll be grabbing off the shelf time and again when you've lost your faith, and need to believe in love again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun and romantic This book was very much a guilty pleasure. I actually love books where the relationship is established pre-the events of the book, and their intensity and romance was very entertaining. On the other hand, they were so ridiculously dramatic. I actually laughed half the time when I think I was supposed to be worrying about them. I mean, I get dangerous motorcycle gangs are a bad thing, but they were just so gloomy and reactive. It was kind of bizarre. Anyways, I think I'm done with Katie McGarry unless I need a shot of pure guilty pleasure romance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE THIS BOOK I could not have waited any longer to get my hands on this book. I fell in love with Katie McGarry words and characters. Long Way Home was beautiful, moving and fast paced. Its a love story, a high school drama, family and brotherhood and Motor cycle clubs. Its truly amazing. This is not a usausal love story, the two characters are not currently together in the book but life throws them together to decide what path to take. If you have read Nowhere but here ( the first book of MC series) you know this is Chevy and Violets story. I laugh, cried and felt sooo giddy with theses two. I think this is the third time reading this book. I truly think readers need to pick this book up :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4.25 stars-intimate, compelling and passionate 4.25 stars-- THE LONG WAY HOME is a new adult, contemporary romance novella by Katy Regnery found in the anthology PREMIERE: A Romance Writers of America Collection Presents #1. THE LONG WAY HOME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. The author may have plans to include the heroine in her upcoming novella from The Vixen and the Vet storyline. The premise of the storyline is a friends to lovers trope between former childhood friends who lived next door to one another. Returning to Big Chimney, West Virginia for Dodge McInerney’s wedding to Myrna McGovern, Ford McInerney and Clarissa Calhoun find themselves seat mates for a thirty five hour bus ride from Boulder, Colorado to home. Ford has been in love with Clarey Calhoun as long as he can remember but Clarey was his older brother Linc’s girlfriend, and off limits until the fateful day that Clarey discovered that Linc had cheated on her with a girl back home. Katy Regnery pulls the reader into a sweet story of second chances (of a sort) for two people who share a painful memory and a past. While Clarey is angry with Linc for his betrayal, her misdirected anger at Ford consumes her thoughts. Throughout the trip, emotions and memories recall what had happened and the connection between Ford and Clarissa. THE LONG WAY HOME is an intimate, compelling and passionate novella focusing on two people whose journey will take them full circle. There are no sexual situations and no graphic language. It is a storyline where a broken heart gets a second chance at love. The world building looks at childhood memories, family connections and small town life. A well written and remarkable, short story from Katy Regnery that teases the senses leaving your wanting more.
