Rated 1 out of 5 by from What Rob Bell wishes was true Admittedly, I read this book to see what the controversy was all about and if it was as bad as people were saying. It was that bad unfortunately. In this book, Bell rewrites Christian theology in a way that is not compatible with the Bible. Often times he would quote part of a verse, leaving out the other half of it that would disprove his point. Theology aside, this book was a scholarly disaster. I would recommend Francis Chan's "Erasing Hell" if you are interested in seeing what the Bible really has to say on this topic.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love Does Win! This book dropped the mike on the conversation about what heaven and hell actually are. Rob Bell comes in and opens up the conversation to explore what if we have been wrong the whole time. What if the idea of heaven and hell have shifted over time and we are missing the point. Definitely an eye opener as well as a mind shifter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book and a must read for any Christian. Bell's captivating style held me from the first sentence to the last. No other contemporary book has courted such controversy, but I found it unwarranted. Rather than lecture or dictate Bell asks question after question to expose the standard Christian beliefs in heaven and hell to not only be unsatisfactory but unsupported by the bible. It certainly leaves us with more questions than answers but I think that is the author's intention.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not what I was expecting A good read (and very easy, I finished in a day). The book is essentially a breakdown of what the author feels certain Biblical passages *really* mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! Finally someone who dares to write down what the Bible really teaches, even though it might scare the hell out of some traditional literalists. It takes guts to explain and live the Kingdom of God as the Bible actually presents it. Rob Bell has guts; I love it! Kudos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This does NOT glorify Jesus Christ. The emergent church theology being taught in this book ultimately removes Jesus Christ as our Savior, and replaces him with human actions. This is another gospel, heresy, and great evil. If you must read this book, do so with your Bible in hand, and see what GOD has really said. full review:
