This book displays in (somewhat dramatic) way how a mother loves her son throughout his life and then the son in full circle cares for his elderly mother. I know the book doesn't mean literally that the mother will go and cradle her adult son every night but it represents the love she has for him. Tearjerker I'm sure when I read this to my son as he grows up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a nice story I have to say I wholeheartedly disagree with the bad reviews of this book. Children's books are meant to be dramatic and over the top. In the end it's really a lovely story about the love a mother has for her child and vice versa. I feel the same way about my son however would obviously not strap a ladder tonthr roof of my car to climb through his window once he's grown. I think we need to remember that this book is written for children, who tend to have fantastic imaginations and are drawn to adventurous and over the top stories. I doubt any kid is reading this and thinking "man this is so creepy".

This book is beyond emotional. I dare any mother out there, or any child with an aging parent, to read this story and not have a lump in your throat... Should definitely be apart of your child's book collection.
