He just brings all myths and creatures into full-circle that everyone can enjoy. I.could.not.stop.laughing. and being amuse evety page.Magnus Chase are fantastic books for everyone. I think that Rick has mature as a writer and really took a lot of time to get to know the characters and bring them to life for everyone to enjoy. The humour, the quriky references and new cast of heros will make you double over in laughter and want add to the collection of new shirts of Hotel V. Mangus Chase is great for book clubs, summer reading, road trip (audiobook it ?). I promise you will love it !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Story As you might guess, this book is full of information. What's great is that it's fairy easy to read while still getting the information across.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this a lot more then I thought I would I didn't have high hopes for this book, though I should have since everything Rick Riordan writes is incredible. There's such a diverse cast of characters, which we don't often get to see in fantasy which is nice. The action never stops either, it's full of hillarious adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved this! Always a favourite read.... as well as one of my favourite series. I always love a good adventure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and Educational! The only complaint I have about this book is its suggested reading age. This is an incredibly enjoyable read that everyone should devour, regardless of age. It also is so incredibly inclusive and honest. It portrays minorities with honesty and ease, demonstrating them as humans rather than plot points. For many children (and adults) this novel will serve as an inspiration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Alright so I went into this a year later than when I read book one and so I didn't remember everything but still I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. It was funny and witty and fast paced. It was a page turner. I like how diverse this book is and I am exited for book one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed by the serie I loved the Percy Jackson and The heroes of Olympus series. Even the Appollo serie is funny and promising but the Gods of Asgard is a big let down. It simply is the same formula but applied with less gusto and less zing than all Rick Riordan's other series. The characters are not reaching me at all. I'll give The ship of the dead a chance but I don't have too much hope for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so good another incredible book by rick riordan. everything he writes makes me love him so much more. all of the characters, new and old, were amazing in this and i fell in love with the series all over again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5/5 stars! THIS SERIES JUST GETS BETTER. Don't tell Percy but I may just love Magnus more than him. No regrets. In the first book there is major character development for Magnus and Sam and their relationship. In book 2, we see the continous progress of this friendship. Also we learned more about my favourite elf Hearthstone which was painstakingly heartbreaking and I love him. This book I feel provided so much substance for Hearth as a character and I know he's going to be one hell of a powerful magic user. This book is proof that a book can be both hilarious yet serious touching on topics really relevant in today's society. Also, I really love Alex like what a character!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from !!!!! Definitely a step up from The Sword of Summer. We get to know the side characters a bit more (Hearthstone's chapters were heartbreaking), and I'm won't complain about the new character. Alex is definitely a favourite!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4.5 stars for lovable Magnus and a new character: kick-ass gender fluid Alex Fierro Definitely enjoyed the sequel more than the first book and love the fact how Rick never ceases to introduce diversity and tackle issues in a genuine way. Made me laugh quite a few times and can't wait for the next book. Love to see the first encounter between Magnus and Percy, considering how Magnus dreads the sea hahah

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazang This is another addition to Rick Riordan's collection of great books. With this book, Riordan's inclusion of every different person continues with the addition of Alex Fierro, and to say the lease, Alex would quickly become my favourite character. Loved the book so much!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SWAGNESS To be honest, although I love Rick Riordan's books, this series was my least favourite. It was all changed due to the beautiful addition of the cast, Alex Fierro. Good job, Riordan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! Faster, more actions and more intrigue then the first one. I really enjoyed this one and it didn't take me more then 2-3 chapters before I really got caught up in the book. It's a nice lite read that is hard to put down. If you enjoyed the first book you shouldn't hasitate to read this one. You discover a lot about Sam and others. Finally I really didn't think it would finish like it did and make book 3 hard to wait for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rick Riordan does it again! This book is incredibly well written (like all his previous works). I was not let down by this book! It has hardship, obstacles that needed to be overcome, and overall left you wanting the third book in this series! Perfect for middle grade readers, young adults, and anyone who can enjoy a good story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Captivating Story and Diversity I bought this book the day it was available in store - Rick Riordan did not disappoint! I was on the edge of my seat with the plot development and introduction of new characters and character development as well. Highly recommend for anybody who's a fan of Norse mythology or Rick's writing in general :D

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Look at that cover! A good story as usual. I like Magnus as a protagonist a lot. What stands out in this book are the characters. Incredible diversity and depth. I have so much respect for what Rick Riordan is doing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Read I bought and read the first book of this series, The Sword of Summer, when it came out last year but I didn't completely enjoy it. When I saw this in the store a month ago, I took a chance and decided to buy and read it. I found myself surprised with just how much I enjoyed reading this sequel. This is definitely worth a read if you like Norse mythology.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Pretty good second book, and better than the Red Pyramid ones for sure!
Date published: 2016-11-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good I really liked the first one and, while I feel this one dragged a little bit more, the characters are really what makes the story great for any readers and their interactions in this one make it for me. I'm waiting for the next book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Riordan can't write them fast enough! Just picked this book up for the son last week. He has already finished reading it...all in one go. That's how awesome Rick Riordan is. The half-year wait between his book releases is way too long. Please write faster...we need more good books for boys to read.
Date published: 2016-11-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2016 got better because of Alex Fierro's awesomeness With a diverse cast of wonderful, intricate characters, Riordan creates an interesting plot with his usual wit. In a rather turbulent time, he easily shows people who are usually never mentioned as heroes in books and media. A Muslim character defined by her actions, skills, conviction, and morals is seen as the amazing person she is, while casually being friends with Magnus. Even though he is not religious, their relationship exemplifies how people should act towards each other despite these differences; with respect. Alex Fierro is a fun, complex character who has her/his pronouns respected easily by the other characters. This is how it should be everywhere. Getting children and parents to read this is a wonderful idea, as this book is not only good for teaching children to be accepting and respectful people, but it's also important for parents to see these things as well.

Editorial Reviews

"Riordan has once again created a reluctant hero who finds himself out of his depth. He stays fairly close to the spirit of the original myths, twisting them for extra comedic effect-Avengers fans may hardly recognize this blustery, red-headed, TV-binge-watching Thor. There's appeal for new readers, but Percy Jackson fans will also undoubtedly snap this up, and there's even some overlap: Magnus' cousin is Annabeth Chase. Buy extra copies, and prepare for the siege.HIGH-DEMAND BACKSTORY: Norse myths are in right now, and Riordan has the magic touch, a combination that makes the extensive marketing campaign seem almost redundant."-Booklist
