Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good thorough overview of Marketing All told, Marketing DeMystified is a good overview of marketing. It takes you from marketing strategy, through to advertising, touches on public relations and communications, and also discusses planning, budgeting, and people managing major campaigns. Donna Anselmo does a good job at taking the reader through a thorough view of marketing, reminding marketers of all the nuances of the profession. Best of all, Anselmo writes in a style that is simple and understandable. The book provides tests at the end of each chapter to encourage the student or reader to review and understand the material. At the end there is even an exam. A nice idea. Since it was published in 2010, I expected more depth on using social media marketing with some cases from companies doing this exceptionally well. Perhaps a follow on edition will cover this aspect in more depth. Also, I was disappointed that there was no significant mention of the ACPP model. This is a critical model in marketing, and it is a MAJOR flaw to have missed it in a text focused on an overview of marketing. Again, I expect to see this in a future edition. On the whole – a good summary, and excellent reference. Many useful charts for keeping your marketing plans on course.
