For two years, Catherine Marks has been a paid companion to the Hathaway sisters-a pleasant position, with one caveat. Her charges' older brother, Leo Hathaway, is thoroughly exasperating. Cat can hardly believe that their constant arguing could mask a mutual attraction. But when one quarrel ends in a sudden kiss, Cat is shocked at her powerful response-and even more so when Leo proposes a dangerous liaison.

Leo must marry and produce an heir within a year to save his family home. Catherine's respectable demeanor hides a secret that would utterly destroy her. But to Leo, Cat is intriguing and infernally tempting, even to a man resolved never to love again. The danger Cat tried to outrun is about to separate them forever-unless two wary lovers can find a way to banish the shadows and give in to their desires.Married by Morning continues Lisa Kleypas's Hathaways series set in Victorian London.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeper My favorite of all of the Hathaway books! Leo is a riot, and Cat gives him a run for his money. Plus, we get to see how all of our previous characters in the series are doing. Leo's quick wit and the banter between the characters make this romance and something special. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Wonderful!!!! If you are a fan of historical romance and you have not read The Hathaway series, then you are surely missing out. This series is positively one of the best and it should not be missed. Lisa Kleypas has done it again and every book in this series just gets better than the last, Leo has been a shining character in the previous books and he comes out blasting in his own book. Leo Hathaway self proclaimed devil, he has the wit, charm and sex appeal to blow any female out of her skirts. He has been through his fair share of ups and down, and he knows he is lucky to be alive and kicking. There is only one person who gets under his cool façade and that is Catherine Marks, companion to his baby sister, and the prim and proper Marks gets under his skin. They fight like cats and dogs and can never see to eye to eye. One thing they know for sure is that they hate each other, or so they say. Seems Catherine might be the ying to Leo’s yang and its gonna be a joyride to prove how much they belong to each other. It comes as no surprise that their little squabbles make the book so feckin exciting, Leo’s quick wit is a force to be reckoned with, its always a laugh to hear the next thing that comes out of his mouth. Their love don’t come easy because Catherine has a sordid pass and she needs to face her demons in order to love Leo properly. Seriously the sordid pass was so blah to me, I was like get over it already and take Leo’s pants off. I felt there was nothing for Catherine to feel remotely bad about, you had a bad childhood you can’t blame yourself for that, and Leo himself is practically a sl*t, come on. I still feel that Catherine doesn’t quite fit with Leo, but she is a likeable character and she does hold her own to the little devil that is Lord Ramsey. Together they could blow fish out of the water, their best scenes were the naked time. Miss Kleypas knows how to write a sex scene and its always a little bit wicked. Book 4 might not be my favourite in the series but Leo is my fave character, god I love that man. The Hathaways is family not to be missed, they stand out from the aristocratic bunch, they are eccentric, funny and so lovable, every book in this series is a little bit of heaven. I give a big “ CHECK THIS SERIES OUT” you wont be disappointed. "I don't care. I can't have a wife named Blossom. Every night I would feel as if I were calling in one of the cows." Awww Leo you wonderful SOB!!! 2010-051

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it Despite my move away from historical romance I still hang on to Lisa Kleypas as one of my favourite authors. This book lives up to her previous work. Her wonderful use of language and ability to evoke emotion makes it well worth reading. The humour that has come to her writing style in recent years is evident in this book as well. Leo's and Cat's characters, while consistent with their previous presentation in the other books in this series, became more developed and endearing. I can't wait for the next one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the Hathaways! I have been looking forward to reading this book since I love Leo. His character continues in this book to be witty and fun. I love the Hathaways and the banter that happens in the family. Catherine's background comes out in this story and Leo (along with her brother Harry) save her from her past, while Leo works to convine her to marry him. I thought this was a good story, definitely entertaining as all Kleypas stories are, but Poppy's story is still my favourite in the Hathaway series. Can't wait to read Beatrix story next.

I can't believe the tenderness & love that oozes from this couple (who had orignally hated one another). Lisa Kleypas knows where to hit the right spot for the reader to say 'awwwww...' at the end of every scene. This is certainly another one of my favourites from her. Also, Leo's wickedness comes out at the right moments for me! Plus, I appreciated the fact that there was constant reference to Marks' glasses (usually, authors mentioned it once & then never again. I can't believe this series is almost over and I truly feel sad about the possibility of never hearing more about this family. As Ms. Kleypas described Leo in one of her Q&A sessions, Leo is like Sebastian (from Devil in Winter) but MUCH MUCH more! For those impatient readers out there, here's another clue for you to really bite your nails: Married by Morning has one of Lisa Kleypas' BEST erotic love scenes!
