Rated 5 out of 5 by from All-time favourite This was the fourth time I read this book in 5 years and it still is gripping and one of my absolute favourites. Witty and warm, full of common sense, some excellent puns... :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not his best, but still great! Maskerade, although not the best book by Pratchett, is still quite good. It's still full of his hilarious wit, even if there are a reduced number of satirical footnotes :( To parody the Phantom of the Opera was a great idea!

Editorial Reviews

• "Pratchett is as funny as Wodehouse and as witty as Waugh." --Independent

 • "The great Terry Pratchett, whose wit is metaphysical, who creates an energetic and lively secondary world, who has a multifarious genius for strong parody... who deals with death with startling originality. Who writes amazing sentences." --New York Times
