- A FAMILY BUSINESS: Isadore (Issy) Sharp founded the Four Seasons empire as a world-class hotel chain, now with more than 118 properties in 47 countries, all while balancing a full family life. This touching story of a life is told through the eyes of his beloved wife and partner, Rosalie Sharp.
- AN IMPROBABLE LIFE: Rosalie Sharp was born and raised in North Toronto, to Jewish-Polish immigrant parents who only spoke Yiddish at home. She met and married her soulmate, Isadore, in high school, and their lives together were not without trial as Isadore launched his hotel dream.
- LOSS AND GRIEF: Rosalie and Issy suffered great loss in the death of their son Christopher to melanoma in 1978. His death partly inspired the Sharps’ philanthropic efforts for cancer research: Issy Sharp is the founder and emeritus chair of the Terry Fox Run. He also offered Fox rest along his marathon route at the Four Seasons hotels, and when Fox was frustrated that he wasn’t getting much support, Issy pledged $2 a mile and convinced 1,000 other corporations to do the same. Rosalie’s royalties from this book will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.
