Through a process of exhaustive man research he calls "keeping his eyes open," Dick Masterson has compiled a Magnum-size list of the ways men are better than women. It is an infallible compendium of man's greatness, filled with the most egregiously fallacious arguments ever put to words, but with some kind of miraculous, rock-solid man logic dripping like motor oil from every sentence. It is a manifesto more memorable than bullshit like High Fidelity or which Axe baby powder Maxim thinks you should slap on your nuts before clubbing, more chock-full of devastating man quotes than Oscar Wilde with two wangs. Most important, it is the only one of its kind. In Men Are Better Than Women, Dick Masterson dispenses logic from his man mouth into the eyes of his male readers like some kind of mighty mother man eagle with nutrient-rich word vomit. It's a book that makes you feel like driving a train into a dynamite factory and then tearing a telephone book apart with your bare hands, just because that's the way men have always done it.

Masterson's chapters are simple and self-contained, demand no commitments from readers, and have an immediate payoff. Men Are Better Than Women is a dangerous work of satire -- not dangerous in a revolutionary sense, but dangerous in that it walks the razor-thin line between cruelty and absurdity. That line is called hilarious.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dick Masterson Fighting the Good Fight. When I bought the book I was nervous about having Dick rant on for 253 pages about one topic. However, the book is a perfect work of comedic absurdity laced with truth, like a bowl of ice cream with truth-sprinkles mixed evenly throughout. Masterson points out a large number of strange and ridiculous things women in our culture do, and does it in a hilarious (and manly) way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from nah... It's funny for the first 3 chapters. If you're in the store and happen to pick it up - then i would suggest reading it for a bit, because it IS funny. But its the SAME funny over and over and over. It's lame and poorly written. I saw the author getting kicked off of that stupid Dr. Phil show - 'nuff said.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good at all. Now its not that I'm a thrown off by the whole idea of the book that makes me dislike it. What makes me dislike it is its not creative at all, and is poorly written. The beggining admittedly is good but it continues on the exact stream the entire book. All he does is say men are better than woman and continues to dissect it under every topic imaginable with no new ideas added it just continues to repeat itself for several hundred pages. I only suggest this book for people who like to read publicly around feminists as the reaction would be priceless!
