Based on exclusive and unrestricted access to more than 5,000 pages of personal writings and family photos, this definitive biography of German physician and SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Josef Mengele (1911-1979) probes the personality and motivations of Auschwitz's "Angel of Death." From May 1943 through January 1945, Mengele selected who would be gassed immediately, who would be worked to death, and who would serve as involuntary guinea pigs for his spurious and ghastly human experiments (twins were Mengele's particular obsession). With authority and insight, Mengele examines the entire life of the world's most infamous doctor.
Gerald L. Posner is the bestselling author of Hitler's Children, Case Closed: Lee Harvey Oswald and the Assassination of JFK, and Killing the Dream: James Earl Ray and the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. He lives in New York City. Producer and author John Ware lives in London.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mengele Interesting but I am still not convinced that they got their man. I use the term "man" loosely as Mengele was subhuman

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mengele: The Complete Story I think this was the most discusting, perverse book I have ever read. What he did to those people is terrible. Why would anyone see how long a child could live without its skin. Or how long a baby could live without its mothers milk, thats sick. What kind of sick minded lunatic would want to do that to another HUMAN BEING. I mean mass murder and burning people was bad enough and then comes this guy, someone should have relised that this guy was nuts, and stopped him some how.
