This book will literally change the way you think about your next meal. Food psychologist Brian Wansink revolutionizes our awareness of how much, what, and why we’re eating—often without realizing it. His findings will astound you.
• Can the size of your plate really influence your appetite?
• Why do you eat more when you dine with friends?
• What “hidden persuaders” are used by restaurants and supermarkets to get us to overeat?
• How does music or the color of the room influence how much—and how fast—we eat?
• How can we “mindlessly” lose—instead of gain—up to twenty pounds in the coming year?
Starting today, you can make more mindful, enjoyable, and healthy choices at the dinner table, in the supermarket, at the office—wherever you satisfy your appetite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mindlessly Eating to Mindlessly Loose Weight I don't diet, but I do plan on using the tips in this book to help me loose weight. Nothing to severe, just ordering a smaller bag of popcorn, or buying a smaller bag of chips so that when I eat it, I won't eat more then I really need to. This book talks about making small changes in your every day dietary habits to cut 100-200 calories a day - something your body won't even notice is gone - to eventually loose 10 - 30 pounds a year, without even really realising it. It talks about certain cues that cause us to eat more, like serving size, environment, the people around us, and how we can make subtle changes so that these cues cause us to eat less. A very easy read, and very interesting. I recommend this to everyone, but especially those who always struggle with their weight.
