They let you know how to substitute things like eggs, whipped cream, and so on. This is a great cookbook whether you're vegan or not, but it's a wonderful cookbook for those who recently became vegan or are planning to.

I have to say, the hard cover makes it really hard to read recipes without a cookbook stand. The few cakes and sweets I made were really good. I made the Pad Thai last week and it was anything but minimalist. It took 1.5 hours and used so many pots and pans.

Her recipes are simple, easy to follow and delicious. Because she has 10 or less ingredients, I can go grocery shopping with a simple list and have meals for the entire week.

I have enjoyed the Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese and the Cocoa Black Bean Burgers best so far. I can't wait to continue testing all of these recipes out!

This book, however, doesn't have many of those delicious recipes and falls a little short. I was disappointed in the variety of dishes and almost regret purchasing. I really bought the book so I wouldn't have to use my phone or laptop for recipes but there aren't very many stand out delicious ones. I would save my pennies and just follow the 'Minimalist Baker' blog if you're looking for a variety of recipes because they post really amazing and delicious ones frequently.

Very simple recipes, but that doesn't mean they are jam-packed with flavour and happiness! I especially loved the dessert section as I tend to panic in the kitchen, but I was able to follow several of her recipes and instructions without breaking into a sweat and pulled off some particularly delicious, home-made peppermint patties. The rest of the book, from juices/smoothies to entrees, are equally enticing, easy-peasy, and delicious, from what I managed to sample before having to return the book!

Recipes are easy and the author's list the total amount of time at the top of each page. I recognize that many cookbooks do this but the premise of this book is to have meals on the table in less than 30 minutes with less than 10 (or maybe 15) ingredients. The recipes that I've tried have turned out great and the timing tends to be true! I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in plant-based eating or who is just starting out in the kitchen.
