Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favourite!! This is a favourite from my childhood! Robert Munsch is my favourite author and I LOVE reading his books! I am now a teacher and I read this book to every class that I visit! The way it's written allows me to use expression and fun and the kids have a GREAT time reading along with me!! You must get this book, it cannot be read with a straight face and will make your day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome book I was introduced to this book in kindergarten back in the late 80's and would even read it to my teacher. I loved the illustrations in it so much and my favourite parts were when moira ordered the 100 pizzas and 100 birthday cakes! Also I wanted all those presents she had, 100 presents!

From Our Editors

Many of Robert Munsch's best-loved stories started out as requests: when Munsch was staying with the Green family in the Northwest Territories, Moira Green asked him to make up a story for her birthday party. Moira's Birthday is the wacky result, honed by hundreds of storytelling sessions. When Moira starts planning her birthday party, she wants to invite every kid in school from kindergarten to grade 6. Her mother says no way: six kids, not six grades. But Moira is a bit of a soft touch and everyone who asks to come gets an invitation. Eventually, 200 kids show up to Moira's party and it's up to Moira's parents to provide pizza and cake for everyone, which, of course, is a crazy notion. Lots of drawn-out dialogue and noisy sound effects blend marvelously with Michael Martchenko's trademark illustrations of bug-eyed adults and exuberant kids. Even if parents don't have the manic energy of Munsch, kids will get a kick out of this crazy story of a party run amok! Ages 4 and up.
