Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good guide for what it offers Since there aren't that many guidebook about cities in Texas, the Dallas Fort Worth Moon Guide is a flawed but welcomed addition. Like other guides from the same editor, suggestions are separated in categories (Attractions, Restaurants, Night Life, Culture, Sport and Hotels), and then further separated in neighborhood or areas of the city. It's a bit tricky to look everything at the same time for one area, and I think it would have been easier to do thing the other way (Like the small Lonely Planet guides do, for exemplar, listing everything there is to see in one area). The choice of putting some of the museum in the "attraction" category and others in the "cultural" category further muddles the search. I think the suggestion for shopping are a bit boring, but this is a matter of taste, so there's that. The suggestion of attraction are on point, and the restaurants suggestion are still mostly actual. There is a good range of price. I haven't been in any of the hotel listed. There isn't that much in cultural or factual information about the city itself, but the author is a Dallasite and it shows. The maps provided at the start of the book are quite helpful too. I think it would have been great to add a map of the public transportation system, at least for downtown, since some tourist won't have a car (I know everyone in Texas seems to have a car, but tourists often don't, and it's always a good idea to provide Public Transportation information). All in all, it's a guide that does its job, is a great size to put in a bag to bring in the city and that provide a few good addresses to try out.
